Hi Shopper. The printer I purchased this for is no longer in use on my home network. You would have to go back to the manufacturer for a 100% technically correct answer. However, I do believe that this product is USB 2.0 compliant. When the old HP printer I was using was in use, this adapter worked well with my new home-built computer. If you are considering this to maintain connectivity with legacy output devices, this device will serve you well.

Will this work a windows 7 64 bit?

Yes, I was able to get this to recognize the printer automatically using a Laserjet 5L. Plug in the cable then power on the printer and it should automatically detect. The only issue I encountered is it would queue the print jobs and would not print until I rebooted. I reverted the driver used to HP Laserjet 3 and set to print the job right away and it prints fine.
