It plugs into a standard 120V outlet, yes. A 1500W device pulls just shy of 14A when running, so you probably can't run this and another high-current device on the same circuit at the same time without tripping the breaker (and a standard breaker is 15A or 20A).

The cooker itself has an 8" and 10" ring for the cooking surface the pan is about 4-4.5 inches high and the bottom covers the 10 inch ring.  It's about a 2-3 quart size pan.

No, the magnetic induction will not heat up glass.  The cookware needs to be metal.

Most electric stoves send electricity into heating elements which radiates heat.  The cookware sitting on the elements absorb the heat thereby heating up your food.  Some of the heat is also lost to the environment since heat transfer between the heating element and cookware is not 100%.

Induction cooking creates electro-magnetic waves which creates a current in your cookware which heats up your cookware.  Your cookware becomes the heating element thereby minimizing the heat lost.  You need to make sure the cookware you use is compatible for induction cooking.
