is this compatible with Nvidia GTX1080 / Ti video cards?
will they work on  common or high end  4k PC monitors &  4k TVs that only have HDMI  ports  ?

I cannot supply a definitive answer to this but I have one of these cables and did give it a try and here is what happened.

I have an nVidia GeForce GTX 1070 with Display Port outputs connected directly to a Samsung U28E590 monitor with Display Port and HDMI inputs.  But I was using a Display Port cable.  The Tripp Lite cable I had bout for another computer/monitor setup.

So I disconnected the Display Port Cable and plugged the Tripp Lite cable Display Port into nVidia card and the HDMI end of cable into Samsung Monitor.  I switched inputs on the monitor to the HDMI1 input and the display showed me my desktop but the resolution switched from 3840x2160 down to 1920x1080.

1920x1080 was the highest resolution I could select now.

I do not know why the max resolution  dropped and I could not select 4K res.

I am using a nVidia driver 25.21.14.1967 dated March 2019.

I'm not sure what caused the limitation other than the cable.

It was the same port on the video card and if the monitor supports 4k on the display port input, I would expect it to support 4k on the HDMI input.

A Quick google search of "display port to hdmi cable 4k" showed cables which say they work with 4k whereas the description of this one only mentions 1080p.
