I watched a video saying to get a molex cable for my cpu fan because your motherboard doesnt alwa was told to get this because it's safer and you plug it in directly to your power supply. Is this correct?

The cpu fan should ALWAYS be connected to the motherboard so the system can monitor the fan operation and speed to control cpu cooling.

Do you have to use both the molex connector and the 4 pin connector to be able to use the 8 pin connector, or can you just use the molex connector to be able to use the 8 pin connector?
