Does this backpack have a chest strap?

This pack does not have a chest strap. However each shoulder strap has a strip of webbing running the length which is attached every 3" to which any sort of a strap or belt could be threaded through to make a very serviceable chest strap.

This is the second one of this pack I have purchased. I wore the first one out with constant use over the course of 3 to 4 years and although I was disappointed to wear it out so soon, it was such a good pack that I thought it very worth it to buy another one.

Question 2

When putting a power brick, tablet, mouse, ect in the same zippered compartment as the laptop sleeve, is it at all uncomfortable when carrying it (ie can the stuff dig into your back)? Even when there's ~50lbs of other stuff in the bag?

I'm concerned as this is the only model where the laptop isn't the closest thing to your back, and yes I will have things in the other compartments and the power brick would have to go in the laptop compartment.

No it will not dig into your back. I have my powerbrick, extra 9cell battery and a few other stuff in the laptop compartment. I also have a lot of other stuff in the other compartments too and have had no discomfort. One time i wore it for 5 hours on a trip to Phoenix on my motorcycle and trust me that bag was packed FULL. This is the best backpack I have ever owned.

does it fit a large gaming headset ?

It has space for my Bose acoustic noise cancelling headphones in their case, so I assume it should fit a gaming headset.  It has a number of spaces. The one at the back fairly flat for the computer or paperwork, but the ones in front of that are quite spacious.

Question 4

I see where Wenger states in the specifications for this bag "Extra durable material on bottom adds water resistance and durability". What about the rest of the backpack? What has everyone experienced when it rains? Because it rains ON TOP of the backpack.

I haven't had the backpack in a heavy rain, but the material is  good enough for keeping things dry in a light rain for a relatively short time.  If you are intending to use this regularly in the rain, you'd probably want a cover or something different.

It should have no problem fitting that. I have a Large HP 17.3" laptop with a extended 9 cell battery and I still have plenty of room.

will it accommodate both 12.9" iPad pro and 2017 13" mac book pro?

Yes, both will fit with room to spare. There is the main laptop pocket that is in the section that rests against your back. there should be another pocket in the next section with a soft divider that can hold the tablet.

the backpack I bought is different from the one on the photo, and different the one I bought last year. Is this a new model or ..?

I got mine in September 2013 and appears to be the same one as in the picture. Maybe they changed the model this year.

where is the "casebase stabalizing platform keeps bag standing upright" shown on tag????  it shows that it in 3 positions with up & down arrows, but there isn't anything separate inside.

It was returned for a refund because my ASUS M70 Series M70Vm-X1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53GHz) 4GB Memory 320GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS 17.0" Windows Vista Home Premium did not fit.

I need a computer backpack that meets the specs for a carry on pocketbook size 18x14x8. They all seem to be just a little too big. I really wanted another swiss gear but the one I own is too big. Does anyone know one that would fit my specs?
