How long did it usually last?

My first paid lasted med about 6 months of heavy usage. I made the mistake of dropping it on the floor a lot and it got tangled in my chair when I would spin around and fall as well, but now I have a big hook on the side of my computer to hang it on when not in use and my new pair which I've had for about 3 months are still going strong.

Question 2

I just want to be 100% sure, is the mic inline microphone (using 1 connector that both have signal for audio and microphone)? if yes then this should work with PS4 connected to the controller like any other inline microphone headset that I have.

From the mic it goes to a 3.5mm cord with the voice controls on it and that get plugged into a splitter that splits it into a audio out and voice in that I use on my computer. I don't know if it will work but it probably should. I don't have a PS4 but I am buying on today. I'll try it out and see. Don't really know if I can talk to you again to tell you the results but I'll try.

Question 3

are there  separate connectors for the mic and headphones?

The main cord (attached) to the headset has a single 3.5mm male connector but the headset Includes an extension. The extension change it from single to dual 3.5mm  male connectors (speakers + Mic) . Both, the main cord and extension are approx. 3ft. in length each for a total of 6 ft. I have the extension connected to my PC and detach it from the main cord when I have to use it with my table or phone. Nice feature.

Question 4

Has anyone experienced some kind of crackling noise mainly in the left ear with this headset? Right about of the box, I noticed that some Youtube videos (music and others) make a soft but annoying crackling noise and certain points throughout the song.  Again, some songs, not all. I do not notice this in any games I play or in  TeamSpeak.

Yeah I had some weird static noises as well, seemed related to the connection made with the extension. I could fiddle with it a bit and it would stop. However, they broke roughly a year after I bought them, the mic just stopped working. They were okay for a cheap headset, but they're just that; a cheap headset.

Never dropped them, wasn't rough on them. The mic just crapped out one day and refused to work.
