Does this product include a toner and drum or do they need to be purchased separately?

This machine comes with everything you need right out of the box. All you supply is the paper.  Before purchasing I also priced toner refill cartridges and found them to be quite reasonable. It appears to be working fine after 2 weeks of light usage.

No, but you can hook up an external answering machine, if needed.

I believe it did. I got it for my office and the office ladies had it up and running the same day. There is no place in our little town to purchase a cartridge. Our old one (different kind) had quit and we needed one ASAP. Still working great!

Hi Dave,

To my knowledge, it doesn't have an internal answering machine.. I would ask the manufacturer.  As far as recognizing a phone call from a fax call... I think it allows you to specify when the fax machine picks up.. if you pick up before that, it would treat it as a regular phone call.. i.e I don't think there's a way for a machine to know whether it's a fax or regular phone call until it tries to communicate with the other side of the call.

No, it does not.

I think it does have a fax/tel switch built in that keeps you from dropping the fax if you pick up the phone accidentally during a send or receive. It does allow you to connect an answering machine to it and will transfer a voice call to it if it does not detect fax tones.

does the display window confirm fax was sent successfully?

If you watch the window you might see the completion of the fax.  The best way is to print the report of fax activity, that shows the success and failures

When my faxes are received the data is stretched or smeared. Is anyone familiar with fax status of EOF before RTC?

I have two of these machines in the office and my faxes don't smear.  I only use genuine Brother toners.

Yes will scan and copy or scan and fax, but it's not a flat bed scanner.

Can you change the order the faxes print from memory? Right now they print oldest to newest which wastes a lot of paper.

I have owned the present Fax since December 2013 and have been very happy with the performance of this machine. So far I have not been able to change the order of the fax confirmation print outs. You may want to try a single fax print out or check with the manufacturer to see if they have any other suggestions to help solve the issue.
