Yes it does. But they say that it is a small one. I have been using it for a couple months now and have not needed to replace the toner that came in it. I also purchased the Hi-Yield Rosewill replacement toner and have not needed to install it yet.

Hi Will,

Yes it does come with a toner cartridge.....and not just the sample cartridge either.  I would estimate it has printed in excess of 800 pages and I am still on the original cartridge.  This is my second brother printer my first one is a 1440 which has never blinked after
thousands of copies. I bought the 227DW because its wireless. It prints flawlessly from anywhere in my home and even out by the pool and from my ipad  and 2 laptops. I'd rate it 5 stars.

Yes, the printer came with the starter size toner.  It lasted about four months for me but I am a very light user.  How long it would last for you would depend on your own usage.

Hi,
It does come with a drum and starter cartridge.  The starter cartridge in my experience was about 600 pages.  Replacement drums and full size cartridges can be purchased on NEWEGG or elsewhere, both name brand and after market are out there.
I have 4 of these as wireless printers in my company.
A lot of printer for the $$.  Set up of wireless takes a little experience.

Yes.  The printer comes ready to print.

Do remember to buy extra toner before the "toner low" light come on - as that usually happens halfway through an important document.  You can purchase from newegg or one of the many vendors on ebay (where I got the toner I'm currently using).

Yes the printer does come with a toner cartridge.  Be advised that it is only a starter cartridge and will not last as long as a standard cartridge so I recommend having a standard replacement ready.

DOES MY PC HAVE TO HAVE  A WIRELESS ADAPTER?

Accepted Answer

No, you just need your PC to be connected on the same LAN as the printer.  Once you're on the same LAN connected through your router or gateway, your pc and the printer can be connected via ethernet cable or wireless adapter and they will still "find" each other.  If you're not on a home network, you can connect your pc directly to the printer using a USB cable as well.

No, it is a black only.  It does not use ink; it uses a toner cartridge.
