How large of a sheet will the machine take?

There is about a 3 foot limit on length.  We use this machine to scan register tapes (wish someone made a specialized scanner for these), and we have to cut them in approximately 3ft lengths or the machine will say the document is too long.

Question 2

Does this have a on screen keyboard to name documents while you are scanning them?

If I remember right from the manual, you can do this.  (You can download the manual from brother and learn everything about this machine.)

However, typing on the screen is slow and cumbersome.  Better to just scan it into a computer and quickly rename it there.

Question 3

We are trying to find a scanner that will scan checks and log them into a spreadsheet.  Is this scanner capable of scanning more than one check at a time, and can it log data into a spreadsheet?

It can scan more than one check at a time, but it will not log them into a spreadsheet.  However, it can automatically scan to a network share and the filenames are unique.  You could write a script to take the filename list and convert it into a csv for import into a spreadsheet.
