The description says it can print up to 11 x17, I want to confirm that this unit can scan/copy 11 x17 originals?

I believe it will print 11 x 17 but the scanner is not wide enough to scan 11 x 17. The scanner is about 1/2" wider and an inch longer than a normal size paper (8.5 x 11 I think thats the normal paper size). I hope this helps. It is also a large unit so make sure you check the size specs.

I see it's spec'd to be a wireless printer, but will it also connect by ethernet cable?

Yes, the Brother MFC-J5910DW has an Ethernet port located next to its USB port...However, make sure that you add 18 inches in length to whichever cable you choose to use; Both ports are located underneath the top lid near the front of the printer. There is a channel that allows you to route the cable out of the rear of the printer. The distance following the channel from the USB and Ethernet ports to the back of the printer is approximately 18".

The glass is about 11 3/4" by 9 3/4".  The top lifts up to accommodate a typical book.

Yes a full set of cartridges are sent and I felt they lasted a good long time.

Is there a limit on network computers that can access this MFC? In the reviews, a couple of people mentioned that it has 2 "licenses" and you must purchase more if you need to print from more than 2 computers on your network...can anyone please provide clarification on this?

I have 2 desktops, 2 laptops, and 4 phones printing to this printer on the network with no license. All you need is the printer and scanner drivers.

I do only have one machine using the Brother printer/scanner management software. Maybe that's the license they're talking about.
