Need to verify that this product does duplex copy and scan as well as print?

Yes and Yes.  It can print on both sides (duplex) for sure.  I have had success making double-sided color copies of multiple sheets of double-sided source material.  Just put the source sheets in the top, and then use the manual touch-screen interface.  You have lots of options for scanning, but I usually use the 2-sided to 2-sided copy option.  It's not super fast, but it scans both sides of each sheet as it draws the sheet in.  Inside the machine, it prints each side of each sheet in turn, and out pops your two-sided copy.

I noticed the feature: "Auto Off Mode powers off the unit when not in use to reduce energy consumption." Does the printer turn OFF  so you have to press a button to turn it back on before printing?  Or is it a low energy mode, still able to print?

It prints, just a low power button.  If you send something to it it prints automatically, but if you go to the printer to print something it isn't off, but you push a button right next to the cover to make it wake so it will print, then another button to make it print by hand.

Is it possible for some (wires) machines top print via Ethernet while tablets and portable devices print wirelessly? Is wireless printing peer-to-peer?

No, wireless is not peer to peer.  It can not be both wired and wireless simultaneously, you will have to pick one.  As long as your portable devices connect to the same network you will be able to print to it regardless of the printer's connection.  I personally use Ethernet as the wireless is a bit slow with scanning.

I didn't finish answering your question before my answer was sent prematurely.  I haven't had any experience with the MFC-95960CDW.    I would go to the official brother address, look up that Laser Printer, and compare the specifications to the MFC-L8850CDW Specifications.

It has been my experience that when Brother updates a product, the new one is usually better.

Anyway, I really like my Brother MFC-L8850CDW wireless color multifunction laser printer.  My only concern is the cost of replacing the ink cartridges which I have not done yet.

I have a Brother wireless black printer that I use primarily for all of my black printing.  I have had it for several years and it is still in tip top shape.

I ordered both printers from Newegg.

Since this printer can only be configured to print wired OR wireless, not both at the same time, how do wired (Ethernet) desktop machines print to this if it's set up for wireless printing?

I'm sorry.  I can't answer your question.  We have ours set up to more than one computer/laptop as a wireless printer .  So, since I'm not a computer tech person, I don't know how to answer your question.

Does this come with color and B&W toner? And how much are replacements for this printer?

Even if it does come with toner, you might as well go ahead and purchase a set. Most manufacturers imply that "starter" toner cartridges are included. What this means is that they are only partially filled. This saves the manufacturer money, but it is also very environmentally negligent and wasteful.
