Is this device NTFS or Linux? We have a NAS now but we can't pull data off because it has Linux software. I need NTFS compatable.

most nas boxes have the ability to choose what file protocols are active. make sure your Drive is formatted NTFS and under file protocol, NFS& SMB also might want DLNA if you want to stream to another DLNA Device

Question 2

1) Is the drive removable? In other words, can it be replaced sometimes later?

2) If it can be replaced, is it limited to 1TB drives? Is there a storage size limitation?

Very excellent questions...ones which I'd like to know the answer to myself.

As that implies, I have no idea.  I wish I did.

It does seem to work well as a NAS unit.  Doing all I hoped it would do.
