Will this work for an old gateway monitor. Lost the cable and would like to be able to run a two monitor setup?

Probably not, this cord is for the power supply to power a Samsung laptop. Take a picture of 3 prong configuration and go to Lowes or Home Depot.  You should able to find the cord in the electrical department.
