Can this connect a new eARC TV to an older receiver with optical?
Yes. This eARC/ARC audio extractor sends audio from newer TVs with ARC or eARC HDMI ports to older receivers, amplifiers, soundbars and home theater systems through optical output.
Does it support Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1 surround sound?
Yes. It supports Dolby Digital, DTS 5.1 and PCM 2.0 stereo output. For 5.1-channel audio, please set your TV audio output to Bitstream, Raw or Source Output.
Can I use this if my new TV does not have an optical audio output?
Yes. This adapter is designed for TVs with ARC/eARC ports,including Sam sung, LG, So ny, TCL, Hi-sense and other smart TVs. And converts the TV audio signal to optical output for older audio systems.
Will my TV remote control the volume through optical output?
No. Optical output does not support TV remote volume control. Please adjust the volume directly on your receiver, amplifier, soundbar or audio system.
Is it plug and play?
Yes. Connect the eARC Audio Extractor to your TV’s ARC/eARC port, connect optical output to your sound system, plug in USB power, then select the correct TV audio format such as Bitstream for 5.1 or PCM for 2.0 stereo.
