Is this compatible with a Windows 7(64 bit) or Windows 8 operating system?

Purchased it for use with Windows 7 Pro. Comes with a fact sheet that says its compatible with Windows 8 and 7 and gives installation instructions for Windows 8 and 7.
Mine is working fine, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

Question 2

Does it come with soft ware that will separate multiple photos that are scaned at one time? Do I need to have some other software between this and iphoto to do that? Should I go with other program like Adobe instead of I photo to do that task? being able to do 3-4 at a time will speed up the process by a factor of 2 to 3.

I haven't really tried to scan multiple pictures as this is being used to scan in artwork. However it does come with MP Navigator EX (Windows and Mac available from the OEM site) and it looks like that it does have an Auto detect that will automate the process. There is a site that seems to have some good information on how to use the software from and end user perspective but I use either Photoshop or Illustrator. I am only scanning in one piece at a time. If you google "MP Navigator EX mulitple pictures on flatbead scanner" and choose the 4th result down to a site that starts with filmscanner .  Sorry for the cryptic description but they won't let me send links.

Is it compatibale with windows 7 and will it scan legal size paper?

I am scanning using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a USB 2.0 port.  Seems to run pretty fast, depending on options.  I import pics into Photoshop 7 ... old, I know, but it gets the job done.

Maximum scanning height looks to be ~12" though not 14".
