Will this be compatible with windows 10?

I can confirm that this printer is not yet compatible with Windows 10 (final release). Emailed Canon. Received response that I need to continue to check their website as they do not have an ETA for Win10 driver.

is mf227dw compatible with window10 I now have  windows 8 and my computer asks to update to windows 10 can I safely update  and keep my printer?

I do not recommend upgrading to Windows 10.  I have not been able to scan since I upgraded.

Question 3

Is this a fax also?  What do you mean multinational?  Has wifi also?

Yes it is a fax and has WiFi to connect to computers and is compatible with Apple 'Air Print" for direct printing from iPhones and iPads. Multinational is a bit of a misnomer, though. It is multinational in that it is compatible with 110-127V 50 or 60 HZ but not for countries with 100V (like Japan) or 240V power (like Europe) for homes and businesses.

Can this printer scan multiple pages?

Just got the printer a couple of weeks ago.  Seems to scan about 5 pages through the feeder pretty well, but jams if I try to scan more than that.

This is a send only fax?

My understanding is that it both sends and receives faxes (of course it must be connected to a telephone line to do either). I have not personally received a fax on it so far.

Question 6

Is the manual feed in front or back?  Will the manual feed accept several sheets and feed them in one at a time (Example: for multiple check printing)

The manual feed is in the front, located just above the paper tray  cassette on the bottom. You pull down a small drop-down door, and feed a sheet. Note the singular 'sheet', as that is all it accepts. Sorry, you cannot feed a stack of paper (or cheque stock) in the manual feed tray. Just one sheet.
On the plus side, the printer is licketdy fast and otherwise, a fabulous printer/scanner. --jf

How fast is the automatic document feeder? do the pages zip through or do they go through slowly?

I would say on the slower side, for my needs it's perfect as I do more scanning that actual copying.  I've very pleased with this machine.  I do all the accounting for a small property management company and it fills all my needs.

Does it come with a print cartridge?

Yes but small volume cartridge but enough to get you stare

The Canon MF227dw specs states it comes with a starter cartridge. How many copies does this make compared to a regular cartridge that makes 2400 copies?

We just finished the starter cartridge and got 1600 copies from it. That is about 2/3 what a normal replacement cartridge, 2400 copies, is supposed to do.

The output catch sticks out about 4 " and the paper tray 3"
