Question 1

I try to scan to my PC,but it only wants to let me scan to my USB flash drive. I am unable to scan documents to my Desktop pc and I think its user error, but not sure what I am doing wrong. Has there been anyone else with a similar problem?

This would not work for us either until I went and browsed for a driver/setup installer. From the computer we wanted to scan to... we searched the Internet (probably just cannon's dot com) for drivers fo rthe MX452. installed that packaga.  After the installer was run on a network computer, the next time the printer examined the network for potential save-locations, that Computer Name was listed as an alternate to "Save to USB".

what is the physical size of the unit?

In its "basic" mode, the unit is 8" tall x 17.75" wide x 15 deep.  However, there is a Automatic Document Feeder at the top that increases the height to 9.5 tall, and there are a paper tray and copy receiver holder that extrude from the front.  These increase the depth by another 10".

does it print on cd's?

No.  Paper feeds into the front of this printer, then is turned up-side-down via a roller/wheel, and exits again out of the front of the printer.  Paper is flexible enough to roll over a roller.  CDs can not roll over a wheel in this manner.

Does the scanner duplex scan? and how well does the scanner work for scanning multiple pages at a time?

Yes it does duplex scanning but you have to do it mannually, scan the first side of every page you need to scan then turn the papers an put them back on.  I have scanned several pages at a time works just fine.
