-very comfortable to wear for hours on end
-not so great cord organizing system (basically a rubber band)
Overall Review: Overall, I'm very impressed with the HS60 headset. I've owned dozens of headsets in the past. Everything from Plantronics to my latest set of Logitech G30's (I also have a set of G930's). The 7.1 surround sound in HS60 is on par for their price range.
Very happy with my purchase!
Pros: This is a solidly built headset, fit and finish is excellent. Having only owned them for a week, I cannot comment on how they will hold up... but the initial impression is good.
Sound quality - overall, the sound is good. Being a combat veteran and having lost some of my hearing (high frequency) from concussive blasts, I needed a set of cans that was semi-closed and could contain and provide good sound production at higher volume. This work well and the additional 7.1 reproduction works so well that I haven't turned it off. As I've grown older, I don't tend to listen to music as much with as much volume, but what I've used these for so far has sounded good, both in 7.1 and regular headphone mode.
Comfort - With any set of cans, there needs to be a level of pressure applied to contain sound leakage while also not hurting the user. At first these were very firm, but after a few hours they became very comfortable after about 24 hours (3 working days) of use. I use these for work (lots of Zoom/Webex/etc) and they do a very good job of keeping sound in. The ergonomics of the buttons is good - the mute gives a tactile click and the volume dial provides enough resistance so the user does not over adjust or adjust to quickly.
Cons: As I've used these, there are a few "I wish that was better" moments.
1 - The first is the mute button - while it provides a good tactile response, there are times where it feels as if the movement is inhibited or does not travel through the full range of motion. Sometimes, I cannot tell if I'm muted by feeling the button. If the button were to travel 3-5 more millimeters, I think it would be a better experience.
2 - iCue. This is yet another piece of software which I have to download and run. It doesn't work particularly well and I don't know why I need to download 700mb+ for headphones. If I have to use iCue, at least give me the option to not download all drivers/profiles/etc for your products. Let it detect which product I'm using and download the appropriate firmware/updates/etc. Also - there is no software for Linux (using Ubuntu) so I can't use all of the headset features with my other computers.
3 - Usage with Linux - using the dongle just creates issues and provides no benefit. I use a USB switch for the two computers I have at my desk and it works fine with Windows, but I end up just unplugging the headset from the dongle and plugging it directly into my other computer. Its silly and one more thing I have to do when switching systems.
Overall Review: This is a good set of cans - I would recommend them to friends if they were in the market. My usage for work and gaming has been mostly good, minus me being picky using Linux systems. iCue is a weakness here and I think Corsair should invest more time in a better software experience for users.
Pros: -Good sound quality and mic quality while it WAS working
Cons: -This was my second pair and the mic broke and then the speakers in the headphones slowly started to died (about 2 weeks)
Overall Review: -hit or miss with this prouduct
Overall Review: I have bought several of these headsets. They are comfortable and sound great. Sadly they don't last as long as one would expect. I have had three of them and they all break the plastic piece just below the top strap that holds the metal fork holding the ear piece on. All three the same thing. Then the material on the ear piece always pulls out after awhile. I have had two cordless and one corded, all the same issues.
Cons: I have to unplug/replug every hour or so because the audio just cuts out
Overall Review: Don't buy
Pros: Good sound
Cons: Bad durability
Overall Review: I bought this headset last year for Christmas and it was good up until 2 months ago when the Leather on the earcup started coming out and I thought nothing of it cause the earcup was till on and today the earcup came off I was hoping this head set would last a lot longer after looking a other review but I was very wrong
Pros: - 3D audio in games is great!
-Mic is a dongle.
Cons: - A bit small, pulls hair.
- Only expands 1 inch.
-Mic is a dongle.
Overall Review: Coming from a HyperX headset that does not have directional audio in games this is defiantly an upgrade for me. It is night and day when playing games that support 3D audio. Playing music or video is about average, I have yet to download the software drivers and fine-tune anything though.
My previous headset had its thin pleather shed off over a year this one seems to have more durable pads but time will tell. My biggest concern is that it isn't very comfortable over long periods of time. It only expands up to an inch which is much less than most headsets I have owned. I found that it feels like it pulls my hair or has some kind of downward pull/pinch which kinda hurts... I think it will break in overtime though. I don't even really have a big head.. I suppose if you are comfortable bending the metal in the band a little this headset doesn't have any hard plastic on the top that would stop you from doing so.
The headset comes with a detachable mic, which I like since I use a studio mic instead, but then I also have to keep track of where the dongle is if I ever want to travel with the headset. I suppose there is nothing stopping me from leaving it connected though. In fact, there is a 2nd dongle USB thing that you have to keep track of too, but likely that will be plugged into your PC most of the time.
Overall Review: Its a great entry level gaming headset. It feels comfortable during extended gaming sessions and has good, not great, audio. Its a good headset for the gamer on a budget. The headset mic doesnt sound cheap while on discord but isnt the greatest when compared to other headsets just slightly above its price range.
