Hello, The description says the one end is an 8-pin female serial. The picture shows the typical DB9 9pin serial head. Is the 8 a typo, or is one of the holes on the female serial head not functional? I've never heard of an 8 pin serial head being this shape. Please let me know. Thanks. Tim McManus

It uses only 8 of the 9 pins, since RJ45 connectors only allow for 8 wires. This is a type-o on their part. The ends are DB9 and RJ45
