This AP has a different power requirement than other Cisco APs - what power solutions have been used (POE switches)?

I bought a CISCO POE injector SB-PWR-INJ2 to power mine since I do not have a POE switch. It works fine.

The WAP does have a 12 VDC socket for external power as well. I have not researched what adapters may be available.

Question 2

Has anyone tried mounting this AP on the ceiling?  How did it go?

Ceiling mounting in a commercial office building with a suspended ceiling was a complete fail. The bracket that is included (but no screws!) is suitable only for a wall mount or hard ceiling mount. I even purchased separately the Cisco rail mounting clip for a suspended ceiling, but after trying it and talking with Cisco support, it became clear that it will not work. I do not recommend this access point if you ant a ceiling mount and your site is a office building with a suspended ceiling.

Question 3

Are these access points compatible with Cisco AIR-CT2504-K9 wireless controllers? We want to introduce 802.11ac into our network, but the Wireless Controller specs only list up to 802.11n. I don't see alternative Controllers with ac support either.

These WAPs are independent. They don't have any kind of necessary controller. They can cluster together so you can control multiple WAPs as single unit, but they do not require any kind of WLC.

Question 4

Is this a Wave 1 or Wave 2 AC product? Does it support (or will it support with a future firmware upgrade) MU-MIMO?

The WAP371 is Wave 1.

I haven't seen anything that mentions MU-MIMO anywhere in the config or documentation so I think that remains to be done in Wave 2.

Question 5

Cisco says this AP comes with a Limited lifetime hardware warranty, but you have it listed as a One Year. Please clarify?
