can this printer be configured as a regular printer for a MS Access program?

You can print from pretty much any windows program as long as you understand it only prints up to 72mm width thermal paper.

Will this connect to a cash drawer? My cash drawer has a ethernet port.

My printer has 3 ports: computer printer (square) usb port, RS-232, and phone type jack. Our cash drawer has a Cat-5 ehternet port. Your cash drawer should have a cable with Cat-5 on one end and phone plug on the other to connect from cash drawer to printer.

in order to use the cutter my program needs to know the cutter code.  
Do you have the cutter codes for a full cut of the paper?
the programmer said the vender selling the printer would know the codes.

with our current printer, to print from windows it is pug and play.
but with the pos program it sends the printer code directly to the printer not through windows. So  it does not cut.

Before we buy a new printer we need to know what the codes are so we will not be in the position we are in now.

I honestly do not remember.  I know it came with a USB cable and that's what I used, but I cannot recall if there was a serial cable.  Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Receipt length depends on the amount of data in that particular printout. Don't know if you can format it on your Mac, maybe someone else can answer that question.
