I have a headless server in my home running the latest debian (wheezy).  It got to be a pain in the neck doing certain things that way (after all the server was in the next room).

When I saw this on sale for $60 I bought one and it works great.  It's definitely not for gamers, but great for my needs.  I think I am going to buy another just to have around.  I think they are even cheaper now.

Does this monitor use an external power adapter (brick in the middle of the power cord) or does it use an internal adapter?

it must be an internal cause it is just a plain power cord from the monitor to the outlet plug. theres no square box anywhere on the cord.

I want 2 monitors to hook up to pc, can I get a split adapter via VGA?

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking to do, so let me provide some information and you can always ask an additional questions.

There really isn't a good way to take a single VGA output from your computer and "split" it to go to two monitors so the same image is displayed on both screens. It is much better to have two VGA outputs on your PC. For a desktop system, you can easily add a second display adapter card and then connect a monitor to each one.  The operating systems (ie: Windows) will manage both displays and permit you to put the same image on both screens, or to extend your desktop across both displays giving you a much larger work area.

how can you adjust the tilt? Mine won't budge

The stand on mine has a hinge point that is easy to see about 2-3 inches from the attach point on the back of the screen and near the top of the "pedestal".  The screen tilts from straight-on vertical to about 15 degrees back at the top.  It appears to hold position by the friction in the hinge parts. Try moving it at that point before using a tiny drop or two of WD40 on each friction area and a couple of minutes of wait time.

According to the spec sheet on the HP support page, it does have VESA Mounting Support (Standard 4 hole pattern, 100 mm).  The HP LCD quick release mount is part number EM870AA.
