have a 775 socket G31M GSR2.0 INTEL , will this fan and heatsink work?

This fan has the mounting mechanism for AMD boards. It uses a lever to attatch it into place. On the newegg page for this cooler, there are other variations (known as series) that are guaranteed to fit intel sockets located as buttons underneath the price on this item. Be sure that intel is listed in the item description and it should fit a 755 socket. The Hyper 212 Plus comes with multiple mounting plates that fit any board, if you aren't sure.

i want to know if this would work with an msi z87-g45 motherboard. is it compatible? are all fans the same?

this one is socket AMD Socket 939 / 940 / AM2 / AM3
it looks like you need a LGA 1150 socket
they Hyper 101 Universal would be a better bet then this one.  these are BULKY so you may want to take the over all width and divide it by 2 then measure from the center of the cpu out to the memory slots to see if it will cover them. also keep in mind the Height as it is very high, it is a tight fit in my case (i can see this hitting the top of a slimmer case)

I believe it will. Honestly this cooler is almost as small as a stock cooler so it should fit.

Will this fit an ASRock m3a770de with an amd Phemon 2 x4 960t processor? I have the stock cooler and I needed a new one, but I don't want to buy one that doesn't fit.. Thanks!

It should work just fine. Make sure to click on the "AMD" box just under the price. They only ship the bracket you need. I used mine on a FM2 core and they use the same mounting bracket as the AM3 processors.

Love my cooler for the price. this is basic but head and shoulders better than my stock fan in noise and cooling power. It also comes with all the needed hardware to add a second fan if you want.

Will this fit on a A6 5400K socket FM2? If so can I just put it on or do I need anything extra? Please help! Thank you!

The Hyper 101 uses the same clip on mount as the stock FM2 socket - it comes with some thermal compound, nothing else is needed.
You'll need to remove the old thermal compound from the CPU, place a small (cooked rice grain size) dab of fresh thermal compound (the enclosed product works fine) on the middle of the CPU then mount. The action of tightening will spread the compound

I need to replace a Thermaltake CL-P0503 (out of stock here) for an AMD Athlon ll X3 455. The P0503 lasted 2 years but is making a lot of noise now. Will this fan hook up the same way, provide same or better cooling and hopefully last longer. do I need paste or does it come with something already on the cooler?

This little guy rocks, it will do very well for your X3. Its quiet and comes with paste (a little goes a long way) I spread a thin coating on the heatsink (hs) side, up to 1/16" from the edge, then 1/2 rice grain in the center of the hs . Mounting is a bit tricky (its the same as the TX3), its certainly a lot easier without the MB mounted in a case. Hook one side to the mount being careful not to touch the cpu with the hs surface until its centered (and the other clip is centered over the mounting tab) and you are ready to put it in place. Observe the airflow direction indicator on the size of the fan so air is blowing either up or out. Place the lever on the opposite side from the fan and as much as you would like to, don't tear off that barcode flapping around on the power cable because it voids the warranty (btw, Coolermaster, that's stupid).

Will this work with the M5A97 EVO motherboard?

It should work just fine. I used it on an Msi 970 board and it worked great. The nice thing about it was it uses clips like the stock heat sink does so it wa really easy to install.
