Yes, it is very compact but remember it's semi-modular, so you need bend radius for the mb cable.

Can this power supply handle a Zotac GTX 780 Amp! and  an i5-4670k(not overclocked)?

Yes it will handle two 780's in SLI and overclock you i5-4670K at the same time. This PSU has two 8 pin power supplies to the CPU ( 4+4, 4+4). You'll be good till your ready to tri triple SLI with 780's then you'll need a 1000W.

So does this thing have 4 PCi-e 8+2 pin connectors or just 2? The website says four, the newegg specs say two, and the dual GTX 970s I plan to run require a total of four.

The PSU does not affect cooling very much but it runs my i7-5820k at 4.6 GHz with a H100i GTX at about 68-74C.
