Why is the OEM more expensive than the identical retail boxed version?

Poor pricing by the 3rd party vendor preying on the uninformed shopper. Lucky you! You are aware that the vendor has the price jacked up. The OEM packaging consisted of a small flat plastic container with a thicker area in the middle for the processor and a piece of foam. That's it. Nothing else. No grease. Nothing. I purchased it higher than I should have paid. Ordered on Newegg assuming I was dealing with them and getting the best price. Instead they use 3rd party vendors like other popular shopping sites. After my package shipped, I checked around and compared. Found the same processor packaged for retail distribution was significantly less with free shipping. Would have returned it but the 3rd party vendor charges a 15% restocking fee. I never called to confirm if they would price match. Poor job out of me on my research efforts. Regardless of being a bit butt hurt about over paying for my processor, I love it. Great performance.
