Can Corel Draw import files from other programs?

Corel software will open files from other programs. It opens various file extension from Adobe Products such as ".ai" It does not want to open ".dwg" files.
It also opens .ppt and many other file extensions. You should go to the Corel site and see if it list a particularr extension you are looking for.

Question 2

I own a retail Soccer store and just purchased a Roland printer/cutter and are looking for compatible software. Would this version work or should we look at the full verssion?
We cut logo's, names and numbers for heat transfer to jerseys.

Shaun, I've used Corel products in the past and have been well pleased with Corel - until I got Windows 8. Corel Draw won't load without a "great" deal of difficulty. Prior to Win 8 I used to build my own systems and have a couple semesters of CISCO, so, I do have "some" knowledge of systems. Corel - historically has good products, but I'm not having much luck downloading both Corel and Nero and a few other programs on Win 8. I'm switching over to Win 7 Pro. 
An Un-happy Win 8 user. If Corel will download for you, I believe you will like the product. Learning curve a little tough, but, a good product. Hope this helps...

10 or 11 years ago I bought CorelDRAW Essentials (CorelDRAW 9) and still use it often on my Windows XP computer. I now have a Windows 8 computer and want to know if CorelDRAW Home & Student X6 is compatible with Windows 8 and, also, will the documents created on it be able to be opened by my old CorelDRAW Essentials program on XP?

The Minimum Systems Requirements on the box for CoralDraw, Home & Student Suite X6 states that it will work on Windows 8 (32 bit or 64 bit), Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) and Windows XP (32-bit). I'm not an expert in computers  but would think that if you wrote documents in Windows 8 (64-bit) they would not open in XP; but that is just my guess. I would think that the files written in XP should be able to be opened in Windows 8. Not sure this helps, but good luck to you.

Will it work on macpro os 6.8?

This is a Windows app so you would have to run it in a MS VM on you Mac

What is missing from this version that would be in the full version?

The thing I noticed most is that you can't output color separations. Prints composite images only.

What is the limitation since this is Home & Student addition went to the corel site and could fine nothing on what limitation maybe or are imposed on this version?

Learning curve on this product is difficult. I wish this were not the case as I really would like to better use and make use of this supposed feature laden program.

Kind of like a politician in that the description (performance) does not measure up to expectations - at least not for me.

I'm sure most 'testing' done of this product is completed by folks with advanced degrees in computer science and beyond. Me, I'm just an end-user having used my G.I.Bill to finish the third grade.

I have used Corel products and until now, have been well pleased.

What is the difference between the Home & Student version and the Standard version?

The most important is that some of the commands from the full version are not there. For Photo work, the absence of the "clone" function is painful. I reinstalled my old Photo Paint. I have not yet found any drawbacks with the "Draw" program, All in all, it's worth the money

Does this version has full vector feautures?

the native CorelDraw .cdr file is a vector file.....what "features" are you worried about ?
