A great-quality mouse 7/10/2019 7:55:29 AM

Pros: -Solid construction
-Corsair is a great company with excellent warranty service, if it is needed
-Long braided cord
-RGB that is fairly easy to use
-Customizable weight

Cons: -Corsair's software for peripherals is not my favorite, but it works
-May be a little big for some people with smaller hands

Overall Review: Mice are a very personal choice. Between different grips, hand sizes, and finger lengths (among several other factors) there are many different things that can affect what mouse is right for who. Given that, this mouse worked well for me.

I give it 5 eggs mostly because of the great quality of the mouse. It has a few extra bonuses on to of the great quality such as customizable weight. Like most other things with computer mice, weight is a very personal preference, so the ability to change that weight is a great plus.

The mouse works great, has excellent DPI options, and the software is OK. Was a great fit for me, and worked pretty well for my wife, who has small hands. She did say that it was difficult for her to use all the buttons due to the size, but seemed to like it overall as well.

While I didn't take the mouse apart or anything, the build quality seems fantastic. The buttons have a nice click to them so you know it was actually pressed. The rubberized texture on the back feels nice in my hand.

Overall, this is a great mouse that I would recommend to people. My cat also highly approves of the cord when it is visible to him!

A bit large 7/2/2019 3:10:35 PM

Pros: Supports iCUE for RGB and macro/keybinds and game profiles.
Adjustable weight for those who want it (i'm using to having 2 AA batteries in my mouse, but the lightness feels good)
Light weight (for me)
Very smooth movement on my mouse surface.
Extremely highly configurable DPI adjustments.
Lots of RBG configuration for those who want it, even the DPI lights
Sniper button honestly is pretty awesome for a DPI adjustment for the length of holding it down.
Grippy textured surface for hand and thumb

Cons: Only 3 thumb buttons which is rathering lacking for a gaming mouse, for my MMO games I regularly use more than that (current mouse has 6), and I just can't go back to having less. Other than the sniper button the other two thumb buttons are a bit high, and necessitate moving my thumb up off the resting zone for pressing them.
Scroll wheel only clicks down, not left or right.
Buttons underneath the scroll dont really make sense to me, they are not easy to click with your fingers.
Cable is not very flexible out of the box after being wound up, and ends up pulling the mouse when I let go.

Overall Review: I have normal sized hands and this mouse is quite large, and for me uncomfortably so, the mouses curvature where the palm of your hand rests is rather shallow compared to what I am used to in my G602, however if you have larger hands this is a good product for you. This mouse has a lot of customizability from buttons to RGB. To get the mouse out of this mouse you really need to use the iCUE software (and this is true with any gaming mouse).

Great Mouse, minor quirks 6/29/2019 9:54:27 AM

Pros: The buttons are preset in their defaults. In order to change this you'll need to go into the software, map a key to the mouse click before being able use the extra buttons in game. Windows 10 does not by default allow these, and they are not mapped like a keyboard with some other devices(with plug and play).

The 'snipe' mode buttons are a bit distracting and difficult to reach up to touch. They are a positioned a bit forward and up above where your thumb would naturally sit. The first button on the mouse is easily clicked with a little bit of an adjustment period. However the forward most button I have to completely adjust my hand position to click it, or use my index finger and slide it over.

Not that it would be modified often, however if you shared the mouse with a significant other, you may want to swap the weights out more frequently. The bottom of this feels as if these clips are going to break under frequent use. Would of been nice to see a different style of cover.

Cons: Some features I would prefer to see on this. would be to allow for an expandable wing/base of the mouse. This would help accommodate for even larger hand sizes.

Unfortunately i'm one of the lucky few who suffer from FPS sickness, and did not get to experience the mouse in its full glory using 'snipe' mode etc.

It would of been nice to allow for an bubble plastic to allow a potential buyer to get a feel for the size in the packaging. If this is not on display at you're local store, you wont have an idea of size before purchasing. This could also be different packaging than is what is sold in stores.

Overall Review: Overall I'm incredibly impressed by the performance of the mouse. It is nice to get a gaming mouse for those of us with a tad larger hand.

The construction of this mouse is very solid. Typically a mouse will feel like it will break from a simple drop, this has some girth to it. Additionally I prefer a heavier mouse feel and the weights are a great addition. This is pretty standard with most gaming mice now. Interestingly enough the software senses which position you have what weight installed.

The Teflon pads on the bottom are wide, and seem like they should last for a substantial amount of time. This allows for smooth and consistent feel when operating.

The iCUE software allows for updating firmware / any other related software for the mouse with a click. It will allow you to save multiple mouse profiles for different games. Unfortunately it is required to take advantage of the additional mouse buttons.

I personally love the extra wing off of the side, this prevents any odd dirt/oils from your thumb to accumulate. Also you will have a much more natural feel when operating.

The RGB on this mouse is not 'too' bright to the point where your entire room is glowing from the mouse. Previous gaming devices I've used really are too bright without the ability to dim.

Good value if you need extra configurable buttons 6/28/2019 7:10:41 AM

Pros: Extra buttons are placed more intuitively than previous multi/macro-button mouse iterations I've experienced.

Cons: Teflon feet are extremely smooth, which means, like with most new mice, it will accelerate easier than it seems on most surfaces.
Personally, this causes me to miss my target location until I get used to it. Using a rougher (or soft, like fabric based mouse pad) surface for a while can help.

Overall Review: I'm really starting to like the side wing, which serves as a thumb rest for me. It also helps accessing the side-buttons because you get used to their relative distance from the rest position.

The feel:
Due to being mostly plastic, relatively speaking this mouse is pretty light, even when including full weights. This is compared to the big chungus that is Corsair M65 Elite (cheaper, but mostly metal construction), which is my daily driver.
Despite plastic-centric construction, it still feels top notch in terms of durability. Braided USB cable looks like it will endure years of abuse. Since the cable is pretty stiff, I recommend getting a gaming mouse bungee (my favorite is Cougar) to save a ton of frustration.

The performance:
18,000 DPI sensor gives you a wide range of flexibility. AFAIK, unlike most options up until new, this unit allows ultra-fine sensitivity increments, I believe as low as 1 DPI(wow!). I personally prefer playing using medium-low sensitivity. Nevertheless, wide range present is bound to satisfy wide spectrum of players.

This isn't a simple plug & play mouse. Full potential and usability isn't unlocked until you install Corsair's iCUE software. The software itself is not bad. This includes RGBcontrol (or turning it off completely), custom macros, and fine-tuning sensitivity for each mode.

This mouse has several RGB zones, which can be configured individually and independently using the previously mentioned iCUE program.

I’m not worthy to own this 6/27/2019 3:00:51 PM

Pros: I really like the looks of this mouse. The RGB lighting is real nice. I like how the lighting shines through a mesh looking material on the front and back. It’s very cool. The corsair logo looks great on the palm of the mouse and there is a lighting zone at the mouse wheel.

The mouse is solid. I added all the weights and it feels like a tank. If that’s not your thing keep the weights out. Nice option. There is a-lot of grippy rubber around the mouse. No chance of my hand sliding off during the heat of battle.

The size was concerning. I have small hands and the mouse seemed a bit large at first. However, after using it for a week I have become accustomed to needing to remove my palm from rest to get my finger up to the mouse wheel. Yeah.. my fingers are not long enough. Not a big deal. The left and mouse button are long so finger length does not matter too much. I have never liked side buttons on mice, I always found them difficult to navigate to and usually during the heat of a battle I never tried to use them. These don’t feel so bad. All in all The size is great and even better if you have larger hands.

The iCUE software is good. Easy to manage your actions, lighting effects and DPI performance. You can calibrate the movement speed in relation to the surface that the mouse is in contact with. That is very effective and you can even tune the weights in the software. The lighting Effects are easy to change and there is a-lot of room for customization. You can adjust the DPI settings and each mode can have its own color. Recording macros for the side buttons is confusing as ever, but it's there if you know what your doing.

The mouse cable is very long, 6 feet to be exact. It’s a heavy braided sleeved cable and the USB connector is a thick strong rubber end.

Cons: Only one con I experienced. I have a cheap mouse pad that has lifted writing on it. It's a blackweb mouse pad. The wing where the thumb is hits the wording on the mouse pad. Not really the mouses fault, maybe I need to step up my mouse pad game.

Speaking of that wing. I read someone else's review that mentioned how the wing created mouse drag. I wonder if that person used the movement to surface calibration in the iCUE settings. I can see where the added surface contact could cause extra friction, but wing is there to prevent the thumb from hitting the mouse pad. Not really a con.

Overall Review: I really want to thank corsair and newegg for providing this product for me to review. This mouse at $80 is way out of my price range and I don’t think I would have ever reached into this range when shopping for a mouse. I can only compare this mouse to my current mouse the Gamdias Zeus M1 which compared to the Nightsword is light and now actually feels cheap. The Nightsword is built for looks and comfort. It has very high quality construction and feels solid. I would absolutely recommend this mouse for anyone shopping in this price range.

The Nightsword of Truth! 6/26/2019 8:24:25 AM

Pros: I don't often gush over a mouse. Unless of course the mouse is a fantastic piece of engineering. This mouse is great --especially for someone like me with larger hands that needs a sturdier device with which to vanquish my foes.

The photos in the description do not do this mouse justice. The unit is well-built and very aesthetically pleasing. The lighting is vibrant and smooth. I am really enjoying the effects that are included by default with the iCUE software and kind of wish I had an RGB keyboard to go with it for the full effect.

The ability to add the extra weight is not something strictly unique to this device, but it is a feature that I've grown to really enjoy in other units. The added benefit of being able to see the properties for center of gravity and such in the iCUE software is a nice touch. I enjoy the stock weight of this mouse, but with the added weights it is just brilliant for me. The included case for the weights if you don't use/need all of them is also a nice touch --though all of the weights went right into the mouse for me.

Grip is fantastic for larger hands and I felt immediately comfortable on this device and could see using it for many hours at a time without fatigue.

The added precision button near the thumb is a nice addition as well for those times when you need really precise movements --just hold down the precision button and make your little tiny mouse movements!

Cons: The cable is shorter than I'd like. If it were honestly like a foot longer it would be perfect. While my grip is comfortable, one feature I miss from the G.Skill MX780 is the adjustable height palm rest. If there were some sort of way to incorporate that type of adjustment into this mouse it would be 6/5 stars for me.

Overall Review: I had previously been using the G.Skill Ripjaws MX780 prior to this and one thing I will say without a doubt is that the lighting and overall construction on this Corsair unit is leaps and bounds better. The G.Skill lighting leaves a lot to be desired after comparison even though that mouse is functionally great.

Usually Picky when it comes to mice. 6/23/2019 6:16:42 PM

Pros: Coming from a Logitech G700s, which is one of my favorite mice. So I look for something that has a similar shape to it and saw Corsair released this new mouse that caught my attention. Ordered it and got it yesterday and played with it for about two days so I thought I would give my review now.

*Pros
The mouse was easy to adjust to and the felling of the grip was almost the same as my previous G700s.
I was trying to get used to a higher polling rate but eventually switched it back to the settings at which my old mouse was at (250hz) and it feels pretty much the same but performance wise this mouse has a lot of options for anyone.

The buttons are placed even better than my G700s with the placement being decent enough to easily press a button without going too far out of the way or feeling discomfort while doing so.

Can have multiple profile setting with 3 profiles with 3 different DPI settings assigned to the buttons. If you only play with one set DPI you can turn off the ability to switch and use only one.

The sniper button is a cool idea allowing you to press and hold to change your DPI for the duration you're holding the button so you can have a fine sensitivity or fast set for whatever situation you like. I don't use it for this, but Corsair allows you to reprogram the button if you dislike this feature.

The RGB zoning is probably the best I've seen on a gaming mouse. Its all in the right places and is highly adjustable. You can even change the color of the DPI indicator and have different zones have different effects at the same time.

Cons: I wouldn't really consider these cons, but preferences that I would think could make the mouse better.

Coming from the G700s, it had 2 features that i thought was useful.
The Corsair Nightsword doesn't have a scroll lock button (I don't know what it's called exactly) that would let you spin the scroll wheel almost forever with one flick with no resistance. It was useful for going through long pages and comments and etc. I keep pressing on of the buttons on this mouse thinking for it to happen but it doesn'y have that feature.

Another thing with my old mouse that was cool but I didn't use as much was the ability to press the scroll wheel left and right for two different buttons in addition to just pressing down on the scroll wheel.

Overall Review: If you have the grip style for this mouse and think you'll like it, I'd say go ahead and get it. You won't regret it. I had all logitech peripherals (keyboard headset and used to be mouse) but getting this Corsair mouse and even downloading the software for it, I don't think I could've chose a better mouse and for that reason it doesn't bother me. I couldn't be happier with this product.
