Pros: The mouse is so smooth that I can't tell the difference between 2.4GHz wireless and wired when strafing around objects at 165fps. Had a friend help me test it. Neither of us could see a difference. Instant switching between wired, 2.4 wireless, and Bluetooth for convenience. Easy calibration to your surface area and other preferences. Very comfortable in my large hand and the price is fair for the quality.
Cons: Teenie tiny little 24-hour battery makes the SE version of this mouse with a Qi charger a must, unless you want to keep plugging it in every day. Might as well not be wireless at all without a Qi charger and support for it. The sniper button could stand to be a bit lower. Corsair software crashed once and had to remake my profile. I doubt many people will want to use the alternate pinky finger attachment. My pinky stays on the mat for control, but if you want a pinky rest you got it.
Overall Review: This is a VERY good wireless mouse, but the battery life kills it for me when the MX Master 2S offers similar capability but with an extra 2 to 3 MONTHS usage on one charge. So since I got the "Dark Core RBG" instead of the "Dark Core RGB SE", I'll have to plug this in every single day I want it to be wireless. Use 2.4GHz for gaming. Bluetooth performance is awful, but then again, I've never had a Bluetooth mouse that worked well. Performance is on par with any cheap wireless mouse when using this mode. Get the SE version and a Qi charger or it's pointless for it to be wireless in my opinion. I'm tired of plugging it in.
Pros: 1. Customizable mouse in both hardware and software 2. Customizable RGB to match your setup. 3. Adjustable sensitivity.
Cons: 1. Mouse “off” switch does not turn off mouse. There are a few LEDs that will stay on until you unplug it from the computer.
Overall Review: By default, when you plug in the mouse, the settings is lowest sensitivity. You will need to loop your mouse several times to make the cursor go across the screen. Change that ASAP. The software is pretty nice. I have a Corsair keyboard, so I already had it, lots and LOTS of settings to have fun with! It’s compatible with a “wireless” charging pad. I do not have one yet, to test this feature.
Pros: The Corsair Dark Core RGB SE is a mouse with several attractive and modern features. The build is black plastic and the quality is good. There is a slight raised texture to the grip with a contoured shape and it has two interchangeable grips. There are four backlit RGB LED locations and three multipurpose dot LEDs. It can operate in wired, 1 ms wireless 2.4 GHz, or low latency Bluetooth wireless mode. There are two switches on the bottom, the first to turn on/off, and the second to switch between 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth. The wired cable has a nice fabric wrap. The optical sensor is up to 16,000 DPI and fully adjustable in software to the single dpi. The wireless receiver was recognized and active in less than a second within Windows 10. It also has the option for Qi wireless charging. It has 9 programmable buttons, easily customized (including disable) within the Corsair Utility Engine. I used the sniper button on one profile to open Chrome as a web browser. The three profiles are onboard, so easy to move from computer to computer. It takes about 10-15 seconds to write the profile. The CUE software has a surface calibration. The DPI is fully adjustable for each mode, as well as for the sniper mode. The lighting effects include Rainbow, Color Shift, Color Pulse, and Static color. The color change speed it adjustable using a slider bar. There is a lot of customizability for the various parameters. The response and performance has been good for both gaming and general computer use.
Cons: The Corsair Utility Engine is a 229 MB download and requires 532 MB free disk space. This seems large for what it does. An internal storage compartment of the mouse for the wireless adapter would have been a nice addition for use while traveling.
Overall Review: The documentation is sparse in the six pages of printed manual. There is additional information on the box that is not in the manual. The warranty/guarantee is listed as 2 years in the retail packaging and documentation.
Pros: 1. Three ways to attach the Mouse (a. cloth braided USB cable, b. 2.4 GHz Wireless Receiver, c. Bluetooth 4.0). I did most of my testing in Bluetooth 4.0 mode, attached to a Eight inch Windows 10 tablet with a Intel Atom Processor Z3735F. My other Bluetooth mouse is basically unusable (due to the large lag) but the Corsair Dark Core RGB SE lag was almost nonexistent. When my Tablet CPU load approached 100% the mouse would temporarily freeze, but that is not the fault of the mouse. 2. Includes a USB Cable, USB 2.4 GHz Wireless Receiver, and a micro USB (female) to standard USB (male) adapter. 3. I found the Interchangeable Side Grips quite comfortable. 4. Rechargeable battery (internal, non removable). Recharges via USB cable or Charging Pad (not included). 5. Nine buttons (the standard Left, Right, Scroll Wheel, Top; plus two on the far top/left, and three on the left side. All are Programmable with the CUE software. 6. Corsair Utility Software (CUE) also controls the RGB lighting.
Cons: 1. My biggest disappointment is Battery life. It is advertised as "Up to 24 hours of continuous battery-powered wireless gaming". I found I had to recharge the mouse far more often than I liked. I took off an Egg for this. 2. No weights, but I would have removed them anyway. 3. The printed manual is a total of six small (five inches square) pages in each of nine languages.
Overall Review: The Charging Pad is sold separately (not included). I recommend this product (especially if you need a Bluetooth 4.0 mouse).
Pros: If you need a high DPI, wireless mouse, this may be the mouse for you. The Corsair Dark Core RGB mouse is equipped with a 16,000 dpi sensor. The Dark Core can be used in two modes wirelessly: RF 2.4 or Bluetooth. There are two interchangeable side panels. One is vertical and the other has a horizontal wing. The interchangeable pieces are magnetic and they feel solid when attached. They do not feel loose when you are moving the mouse around. The thumb rest and the back of the mouse are textured. After gaming for a short time, my hand was used to the grip. The array of 9 programmable buttons is usable without being overwhelming. There is a sniper button on the left hand side for your thumb. The design forces your thumb to the center so you do not accidently click the forward and backward buttons arranged around it. All of the buttons give a satisfying click when you push them. The left and right click button switches take a very light pressure to actuate. I was concerned that I might be clicking the buttons by accident during game play because it has such a short action but I had no issues. The wheel is mounted high enough that it does not get lost between the buttons. The scroll wheel has a solid feel. The resistance to click it is high enough that you will not accidently press it when you are scrolling. The wheel clicks firmly when you spin it. There are a lot of customization options using the software. You can program macros to the buttons. The colors of the lighting effects are customizable. The fit and finish is top notch. Corsair build quality is second to none and they put a lot into this mouse. There are multi-purpose indicator lights on the left hand side that alert you to charge level, sniper mode, profile selection and wireless connectivity. The package also includes the USB wireless receiver, the USB charging cable and a USB female A to micro female adapter.
Cons: Battery life is not what I had hoped for. I got to the point where I felt like I had to charge the Dark Core every time I quit using it. I did not want to run out of juice the next time I was using it. The mouse can be charged with the included, proprietary shaped USB cable. I am concerned how long the cable will last with the daily plugging / unplugging action. The Dark Core is compatible with Qi® wireless charging but a wireless charger is not included. The forward thumb button is positioned so far forward that it is difficult to use. The software to customize the mouse is a bit confusing. The software is very detailed but that is where the confusion starts. There is a help feature to remap buttons or construct a macro but something a little more intuitive would be better. I did not get to the point where I felt comfortable remapping buttons. It seemed to be trial and error to get it done. The scroll wheel does not have horizontal tilt. I have it on my other mice and I find that I missed the feature.
Overall Review: The Dark Core feels very light and moves smoothly thanks to a great set of glides. Corsair has achieved a good balance with this mouse. When you pick the mouse up it, it is not light. If you are accustomed to picking your mouse up to reposition while gaming or such, the weight may be an issue. If you are looking for a new, wireless gaming mouse, you may want to give it a try.
Pros: - Ultra-low latency performance. - The mouse looks nice. - Good in-the-hand feel; a godsend for those of us with larger than average sized hands! - Tons of customization options within the Corsair software too! - A truly great mouse for the price... in a vacuum. *See cons for where things begin to fall apart*
Cons: -1-year limited warranty. Doesn't inspire much confidence. *WTH Corsair?!* - The Logi or Logitech *Whatever they're calling themselves these days* G903 RGB gaming mouse is just better, better sensitivity, lighter, supports wireless charging., ETC. - Compared the competition this mouse just doesn't do enough to justify its price tag in my opinion.
Overall Review: Compared to the competition, there are better options out there for both less and more money, do your research and buy what fits your needs best. Me personally, I went back to my Logitech G903 after testing this mouse for about 3 weeks in creative apps, gaming and general web browsing... Ultimately, it just wasn't for me, and generally, I really enjoy Corsair products. Better luck next time I suppose.
Pros: Good sensitivity and options to change. The software is easy to use and intuitive. I like the options for wired and wireless and the charge lasts a long time. The cord is very nice and sturdy and quite long. The mouse feels solid and well-made. I have hands that are pretty large and I really like how this mouse fits. Though it doesn't really affect the operation of the mouse the customizable LED colors are enjoyable and fun to change. Easy to match your case and keyboard.
Cons: The only con I ran into was when I asked my wife to try the mouse and she found it to be a little large for her tiny hands. We tried changing out parts to better fit but she just couldn't get to the point where she enjoyed using the mouse. Other than the fit she says it works very well for her Revit program for her architecture work. I think if she were to use it a bit more she might get to the point she enjoys it but she went right back to her smaller mouse.
Overall Review: I didn't try this mouse or software with my Mac only a Windows 10 PC so I can only comment how it works with that OS. As far as Windows 10 is concerned the mouse and software gave me no issues and worked very well. Gaming and general browsing. In order to save the battery it seems as if you have to manually turn the mouse off and there is no auto sleep mode. As long as you remember to plug in the wire to the mouse that shouldn't be a major issue.
Pros: +Can be used wireless (2.4 GHz or Bluetooth) or wired. Personally I always prefer wireless mice, they work just fine for me in games. I hate having a wire pulling on the mouse when you move it. +The mouse itself feels like a quality mouse. It slides very well and I like the scroll wheel and how the clicks fee. It also supports a high dpi. +The braided cable is nice also, it is very bendable and doesn’t feel stiff. Its about 6.5 ft. long. + I love the very configurable colors, The mouse looks really nice to me. You can set the colors for 3 areas, the scroll wheel has its own light, the side button has its own light, and the corsair logo on the back has its own configurable light. You can set each to its own color and lighting effects using the CUE software.
Cons: -My only real complaint is the battery. From what I can tell it is not replaceable, unless I am wrong. I would have much preferred being able to put in two nimh rechargeable batteries. It says the batteries should last all day, but to me that is also too short. My previous Logitech G602 mouse lasts for months and has replaceable batteries. This is the only reason I took one egg off my rating. It also would have been nice if it came with some kind of charging pad to set it on. Especially considering that the battery charge life is not super long like most mice are. If you game heavy you probably would want to charge it every night, to be safe. You can manually turn the mouse off each time you are done using it, with the slide button on the bottom of it.
Overall Review: I’m not exactly sure what all the features do, but I do see a difference when I choose the “Enhance Pointer Precision” in the cue software. I assume this probably would drain the batter faster, but I don’t know for sure. I am very happy with the default settings in the cue software, although I did change some color choices. The CUE software has improved since I last used it, but parts of it, like the “Actions” section can still be confusing. I had to download the CUE mouse software from their website, it doesn’t come with the mouse.
