this uses the power supply to power it right?

You plug it into the motherboard and the motherboard pulls power from the power supply. so essentially yes

How do you mount this to your case? pictures only show front of the item. Not the back where you actually mount it

You can mount 2 ways. It's Magnetic, so in a lot of cases, you can simply just stick it wherever it looks good, and it will stay in place.

They also give you some double sided adhesive for the back that you can use to mount it where ever.

Mine for instance.I just through in a hidden drive cage, it fits perfectly, and the magnets for well.

Now whether you should actually buy it is a whole other story entirely. I believe I reviewed this thing positively at first, but over time I had to stop using it because Corsair software just crashes too often, and when it crashes the fans connected to this would simply stop working, so I couldn't rely on this. Also it's sluggish when responding to temperatures, which isn't the biggest deal I guess, but I found when using Motherboard fan headers the fans respond to change in temperature almost instantly, where as when plugged into this, it usually lagged behind a good couple seconds.

If you are getting this for the RGB, I found ditching Corsair software altogether and going with Red-Ray's SIV utility, you get a lot more granular control then corsair gives you, takes up a HELL OF A LOT LESS, system resources, and is literally 100 percent more stable. Only thing is it's a STEEP learning curve with SIV, but documentation is out there that can help you through it.

Corsairs Software, particularly iCue, has gotten a lot better, and its pretty easy to use, so of course still give that a shot, you might have better luck with it then I, just pay attention to your fans connected to it, and if you find them all the sudden not to be spinning, just do yourself a favor and ditch Corsairs Buggy software and try SIV.

i dont care much for rgb right now but this can control fan speeds correct?

Yes totally. It's a glorified fan hub more or less. That ties in to the Corsair link software for fine grained control of fan speeds/curves. And rgb control- if you're in to that.

If this only has 2 LED plugs then how will i control the Fan RGB Color? Someone please help I'm new.

When I bought Corsair's HD Series RGB fans, they came with a RGB controller. You plug that RGB controller, into one of the 2 LED plugs. Each RGB controller can plug in up to 6 fans.  The Commander Pro allows you to control the RGB lights, as well and fan speed with Corsair's "Link" Program.

For the fan controller, is it possible to completely turn off a fan if I want?

Yes it is, but it has to be done with Corsair Link, which is incredibly shoddy software in my opinion.

But if you go into the software you can switch the fan you want to manual control and then put in 0 percent for fan speed and it will shut the fan off.

I actually like the product, but I can't stand the instability of the software. Randomly it will drop fans from the software from time to time, sometimes it will bug out show the wrong Temps or fan speeds, other times it will just randomly crash, and you have to restart the computer to regain control of your fans. It got to the point where I couldn't rely on it anymore to respond to hi Temps with my curve, so I just set a static speed High enough to handle high Temps, and leave the software off, so I can play my games, or run my recording and mixing sessions, without having to worry about my fans speeding up to accommodate the higher Temps.

It really sucks that I bought this to be my main fan controller, and because of really poorly written software, I can't count on it to reliably do so. I haven't tried NZXTs cam software yet, so I don't know if it's any better, but I don't think it can get much worse, so that's what I am personally trying next.

But to answer your original question, yes as long as the software is working you can tell the fans to stop. Hope that helps, if you can tell I am having a little buyers remorse, lol.

Does this control the RGB effects of the Corsair HD fans via Corsair Link or is the Corsair HD Fan Hub still required?

The command pro provides power to the fans and a connection to the hd/sd fan hub.
You must use the hub that comes with the hd/sd fan kits or you could blow your leds out. Also it is all controlled by corsair link software on the pc. Fan speed led color and effects. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Will this allow you to control multiple Corsair LL fans?

Yes to my knowledge. I’m using it for the new pro fans from corsair and it works fine. Just make sure you update the software and firmware for it after your install.

does it come with an rgb fan hub? if not, where would I go to get one?

This product is a fan hub with lighting control via the two LED ports. If you need a place to connect RGB fan lighting together, it should come with the fans.  The RGB fan hub will connect to one of the two LED ports on the Commander PRO.

Does this provide an alternative to using your motherboards case fan connectors or do your fans also have to be plugged into those as well?

Only the Commander Pro needs to be plugged into the motherboard.  The device will control the fans plugged into it.

For example, I have four fans on my radiator, and all four are plugged in to the Commander Pro and controlled with the included software.  None of them are plugged into the motherboard.

Question 10

Do the LL or HD 120's come with this in the box? really confused lol.

The fans come with a lighting hub controller that has a manual wired remote.  If you buy the commander you plug the hub into it and then have software control and can remove the wired remote.
