Pros: Lights up! Use a Sharpie people. Ure use blue or white. Either way they are great
Cons: $$$ . Needs to be a bit cheaper. I bet it costs Corsair 2 bucks to make these...or less.
Overall Review: For those who want a different color, just use the clear ones and get a flat tipped Sharpie in the color of your choice and apply it it single, long coats until you get the desired affect. Myself, I turned mine green and am about to use the same method for my sons and turn his purple. Shrpies work wonders...
Pros: Adds a nice soft light to the Dominators.
Cons: Instruction book is simply fail. Screws are tiny.
Overall Review: When you remove the old light bar, you will see a clear piece of plastic. Grab the new light bar, install either the clear or blue bar with the bumps to the outside (they will fit into the holes), the place the clear piece of plastic from the old light bar right behind it. You will use both. The manual does not mention this.
Pros: -not too expensive -fairly easy to install -adds some white light to the case which makes them RGB neutral
Cons: -might be a little challenging to install for someone who isn't very handy (took me about 10 minutes for 4 dims) -lighting not even disbursed- this is probably a fault of one of my actual dims rather than the light bars. (3 out of 4 look perfect)
Overall Review: All in all, I consider this upgrade to be worthwhile. If you have some extra money laying around that you don't want to spend on a new SSD or some extra case fans, go for it!
Pros: - Easy to install - Choice of White or Blue - Comes with extra screws (identical to ones already on the RAM) - Makes beautiful RAM look even better - I remembered to remove the almost invisible protective film from the logo's
Cons: - Only came with one wrench. It was easy enough with 1, but the way the screws are designed 2 would have been better. - Took away from the time I get to play on my PC on Day #1 of woning them, because I am staring at my beautiful glowing RAM.
Overall Review: I'm really glad I ordered this light kit along with my Dominator RAM. My fans and liquid cooler are all lit with blue LED, so I wanted blue to match the rest of the PC. They were very quick and easy to install, and look fantastic! I was worried before they arrived looking at them online, that they may be too bright. They aren't too bright at all - The lighting is perfect. The blue insert lights up with a very cool blue glow, with an almost neon haze. They got it just right. One more thing I liked, is that under the top bar you can still see a little bit of white light emanating from the outer edges which travels down toward the center a bit, making the heat sink fins more visible, it looks very futuristic. After installing a pair of Corsair Dominator's and these puppies, anyone looking into the side of your PC will know you mean business.
Pros: *adds a nice touch to your rig
Cons: *packed in such a way that when you remove these light bars you can break them very easily if you are not careful
Overall Review: All in all a nice addition to a rig with visible guts. The light is not super bright, nor does it detract from the rest of your system. Make sure you use caution when taking the light bars out of their packaging to ensure you do not snap them.
Pros: gives the dominator platinums a different look. In my opinion it looks better. It comes with enough screws to no use the screws that you have to take off, i didn't use them but i knew if i stripped one i had plenty of extras.
Cons: the installation instructions are wrong in one instance and missing a part in another. see other thoughts for more info. these light bars are not polished like the stock ones
Overall Review: the part that is wrong in the instructions is that the clear plastic that came with this shows that you need to put it on upside down. the missing part in the instructions is that the plastic piece that is in the old light bar needs to be taken out and put in the new light bar. (I had to take all 4 of my dimms apart again once i realized what was wrong) other than that its a great product.
Pros: -Easy to install -Good quality
Cons: -Wish they had more color choices, only white or blue for this kit
Pros: Corsair Quality Fancy looking More visible light than stock covers
Cons: Nope, but I have other thoughts
Overall Review: For the price more colors should be available. The problem with this is that the inherent white LEDs would make other colors look washed out and strange. Red would undoubtedly turn pink. There are only 2 solutions. RAM that comes with different color LEDs, or RAM that comes with adjustable LEDs so you can choose your color; like a keyboard.
