Will this fan block fit in a standard drive bay? DVD/ROM slot.

I checked the width and length and it looks like it would fit.

I don't have an empty drive bay to put it in to, but what I did was use the plastic spacer that came with my case to measure it.  The width is almost exact and it's slightly shorter in length - so it does look like it would fit.

However, there are some cooling fans that go into the drive bay slots.  There are also hard drive coolers that are the same type of thing and bolt right in.  There are also fans that take up a PCI slot on the back of the case and pull hot air from the case and push it out.

Question 2

Are the fans replaceable? Can I put some noctuas instead?

There are four nutted threads for each fan insetted into the back of the unit. The necessary drive head access for those twelve screws is hidden under the blue fascia seeming glued to the front of the black plastic main frame for the three fans. It will require some pretty able finessing with a razor blade to get that fascia off, and off in sufficiently good condition that it could be adhered back on. Or do without it, it's just there for looks. I don't see a way to send you an image of the back of the unit which I could easily achieve with nothing more than my jailbroke iPhone4, and which would clear this up for you very effectively. In any event though the three installed fans are 40X40X20mm. Looking on Noctua's webpages I find their sole model of 40mm fan is the NF-A4x10 FLX 40x40x10mm 3-pin, 4500/3700pm. As you can see these are 10mm thick versus the fans Corsair chose which are 20mm thick. Nice looking unit, well made, and can be pretty readily mounted on most of the installed memory modules out there. I don't use mine, too noisy for the amount of air it moves for my taste. Three of the 40mm Noctuas, which are very nice fans I might add, would be significantly expensive.

I have quite a bit of Noctua equipment, how can you not love the razor sharp production engineering so elegantly integrated in their gear; thermally, aerodynamically mechanically, and electrically. Unapproachable by anything else I've seen. I have three of their 140/150mm PWM fans which I've installed on their big side-draft, their large, and their medium down-drafts.. yea.. top core2 quads no sweat whatsoever, plenty of reserve capacity for fuzzing up particularly in PWM mode, VERY quiet, and surprisingly low current consumption. Efficient.

Bonus on the down-drafts if your mainboard installation allows the cooler to be oriented that way, the fan overhang takes very nice care of the ventilation/cooling needs of the memory below it.

Question 3

Do the fans on this cooler have a tachometer like regular 3 pin fans? I want to be able to control this fan using my NZXT Sentry LX fan controller.

Yes, I do believe it dose have rpm read capabilities, however I have so many fans in my case and a liguid cooler that I monitor I 
have not noticed.

Question 4

Will this fit over server memory?  I'm using 4, 240-pin, ddr2, FB-ECC modules that are 5 1/4 inches long.  similar fans have been too short.

The only difference between server memory and desktop memory is that most server memory is buffered/registered and may have an ecc chip, while the pins and configuration may be slightly different, physically they are pretty much the exact same size, that being said, i have seen memory both for desktops and servers and routers where it is DDR2 that is like 3 inches tall, so when you are saying its to short, is that what you are referring to? Side note, these fans are supposed to fit very snugly as they will usually be handing sideways and have spinning fans in them so it has to be tight otherwise they would vibrate off, so you may need to apply a little more force putting them on than you would think you have to.

Question 5

Does anyone know if this will fit over vengeance memory?

I have one of these coolers in my rig, Im not using the vengeance memory, but from the looks of it, it should fit, i have the gskill sniper in mine, and there is the better part of an inch of clearance between the cooler and my memory, i have had mine for a little over 6 months now and it has been quiet and works great, used to be under a full prime 95 load if you touched my ram you would get burnt but now its cool to the touch.
