The Air Series AF140 fans let you have it all. Eleven ultra-thin, custom-molded blades push ample air volume. Rubber corners dramatically reduce vibration. The advanced hydraulic bearing system is quiet and reliable, and you can customize the look with the three included colored rings.
AF models performs best in unrestricted spaces with at least 3cm of clearance, and they're ideal for mounting at the rear or top of your PC case as exhaust fans for your PC's motherboard and CPU, graphics accelerators, and other components that fill the case with heat. They work equally well as unrestricted intake fans for areas like side panels or bottom intakes.
Pros: • Rubber screw holes • Easy to install (well, it is a fan) • Interchangeable color rings My CM Storm Scout had a finicky 140mm fan with a red LED. Instead of running both the fan power and LED power off one molex connector, the LEDs had their own dedicated power line to plug in. A replacement was not needed, but would do my cable management some good. In came the AF140. I popped off the front of my case and the side panel, unscrewed the old fan and screwed in the 140. The rubber screw holes help reduce fan noise by absorbing shock. However, the screws still fit in snugly. I didn’t try swapping out the color rings but it seems easy enough: snap-off, snap-on. Performance wise I have seen a drop in temperature by two to three Celsius (sitting at 40 now). In regard to the noise, my computer is somewhat loud, so I haven’t notice an audible change.
Cons: None so far. The fan has been performing well for about a month now.
Overall Review: It’s a nice fan, a bit pricey, but definitely worth the extra money.
