Is control available via software or just the push button please?

I purchased these fans for the corsair 460x which included three fans so 6 fans total. I can control rgb via a button on the case or the controller which isn't easily accessible. I don't believe there is software that you can use to control the rgb. I can control fan speed  through motherboard software though.

Is it possible to connect the fans to the controller, and then the motherboard?

Each fan has two cables running from it, one runs to the controller and the other runs to your motherboard. If you have a single fan and no controller it just plugs in to your rgb header on your MotherBoard.

Are these fans compatible with ASUS aura?

Accepted Answer

No.  The physical controller is the only way to change the fans.  It isn't even true RGB, you just get 7 colors.  If you want to control it via software, you have to pay 50 or 60 dollars extra for a Corsair Commander Pro that lets Corsair Link (desktop program) interact with the fans.  Poor advertising on Corsair's part and the available information is lousy.  Unless you are on a budget, I don't recommend them over other true RGB products.

How bright are these fans? If I buy 4 of them for my case, will I need a lighting system?

If you get four buy the kit that has three and a light controller included.  And then buy just one without controller.  The controller in the three kit can control up to six lights and has connections for six.  This is the setup I have and it provides a nice amount of light without being over powering. rgb port 4-8 are not workimg? why?

You have to plug them in in order.  If you skip a port, anything behind won't work. For example if you plug in one, two, and four...four won't work. I suspect you are only using 4-8. Turn it around and use 1-4.

Can I connect these fans with the same RGB controller and control the corsair rgb HDD 120mm and these?

Yes, as far as i know, they both use the same connections. Do yourself a favor and get a fan hub, thermaltake make a 10 port fan hub that uses sata power and not a single fan connection which can be bad. These fans come with two sets of wires, those for the power connection and those for the color controller. Most motherboards dont have many fan connections for extreme cooling cases. Its important to note that although fans are known to be reverse polarity safe, these are not. If you reverse the polarity the led wires will burn up and kill the fan. They aparently draw power from the same point on the fan chip. Hope this helps

The SP fans are not PWM - if you ant PWM then you need to get the HD series.
