You should be able to do it off of one, if we're talking about lightning specifically.  The rgb hub can have 6 rgb connections each on it and the lighting node pro can connect to 2 of the hubs making it a total of 12.

my case has a universal fan hub. can I connect all of my fans to that, then hook it to the controller that way or do they need to be directly plugged into the controller?

The fans can be, but the lighting can't. And your case controller requires you hit the buttons, whereas the Corsair controller is software and you're not going to get away with leaving it out, because it controls the lighting controller. So it has to be in the case.

By any chance, are these fans compatible with aura sync?

They will work along side aura sync, but they cannot be controlled inside the ASUS app nor synced with the motherboard lighting or graphics card lighting of your ASUS product.

There are a couple of third party work arounds, depending on your technical level a patch job of sorts may work to some degree, but not in an out of the box easy to use way.

How many usb headers do I need if I were to have one lighting pro and two of the fan controllers?

If you mean one lighting node pro and two RGB fan controllers, only the lighting node pro connects to the USB 2.0 header.  So the answer is one header.  Note that none of these control fan speed, only the RGB lighting.  If you want Corsair to control fan speed, then you need the Commander Pro.  You still only need one USB 2/0 header, because the lighting node pro makes its connection in series through the Commander Pro.  I'm using two Commander Pros, one lighting node pro, and two RGB fan hubs and only using one USB 2.0 header.

I have the Corsair H150i Pro RGB CPU cooler. I wanted to buy these to replace the stock fans so I can have the lighting effects. Do I connect these to the 4pin connectors(x3) that come from the pump?

You can plug the fans into the pump's fan control, or the fan controller that comes with the fans. Whichever suits the build. You can configure them in iCue either way.

Question 8

If I already have the Corsair light strips with a free jack on the RGB controller do I still need another lighting node for these fans?  Or can I use the node I already have to daisy-chain two or more of these fans?

These fans use the Corsair CL-9011109-WW controller, and then go to a splitter. If it uses the same controller and you have extra ports on your splitter it will work. I purchased two "packs" of different fans, and am only using one controller and one splitter.

You should be able to define in the software what type of RGB device is connected to which port on the splitter and control it from there.
