Will this work in a system that doesn't have RGB inputs?
Such as an old 1150 socket motherboard?

Accepted Answer

The rgb is handled by a separate module that comes with the fans. You'll only need to be able to hook that module up to the PSU to get rgb working. Without fan pins on the mobo, the only thing you lose is the ability to adjust fan speed.

Question 2

Does the controller that comes with it control fan speed or will I need to plug fnas into the mobo directly?

The fans power comes from the motherboard, they are 3 pin fans, so not compatible with the Commander Pro or the commander Pro XT, they will run at full speed.

Question 3

Just to be clear, these don't plug into the system fan slot on the mobo, but rather to the USB 2.0 connector, correct? Therefore, no molex splitter would be necessary. Thanks!

The fans themselves are NOT pwm fans and do require either being plugged into a mobo fan header, or a fan power hub. The controller that comes included is ONLY for rgb control and does need to plug into a USB header. The controller itself is SATA powered.

Question 4

I purchased the Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow mid-tower and I want to utilize the additional three spaces for 140mm fans. Is the iCUE lighting node sold with the dual or three fan package the same thing that came in my iCUE case?  The picture on this product listing has a covering or shroud, and the controller that came with my case is a bare circuit board.  Should I buy three separate fans without the controller or will I need to purchase the package deal with the controller?  From my understanding the case came with the controller, but I want to make sure since these iCUE lighting nodes look very different.

Also, do these fans come with all the necessary cables?

Doing a build with 10 fans. I am kind of confused if I will need to buy a seperate fan hub to power these things since each fan has two connectors which one goes into the rgb controller that is included in the box. Will I need to buy a 3pin x10 fan hub along with the controller to use these? Thanks

The pack only comes with a 6 port rgb hub so yes, you will need to install a 3 pin fan power hub. These fans are Not compatible with the Commander Pro just a heads up as they are not PWM fans.
