Is there really 6x 6+2pin connectors for GPUs because the picture seems to only show 5 such connectors?

Yes. It has a few that are 6 pin with another little two pin connector you can add to make it 8 pin. This power supply is very versatile and works great! I ran it in my gaming rig for a year or so until the power supply in my 22 hard drive file server went. I swapped it over there and it's still humming along without any issues.

Is it fully modular? Or is the 24pin built in?

It's not fully modular. The 24pin is built in to the PSU and cannot be removed.
