Where is the slot for the optic drive? Some people would want to know this.

You could zip-tie a CD_ROM drive into the case somehow, open the side panel to use it, but I used a USB drive to install Win10, was up and running in 20 minutes.

anyone know if a MSI GTX 980 will fit in here?  I know it will fit length wise, but am curious if the extra height on the card will get in the way of the door closing.

I have a MSI GTX980 in my case and it fits perfectly. Door closes and latches without touching the card. It cools quite well also. The only thing I couldn't fit was my CPU cooler. It was too tall, so I'm using Intel's stock heatsink and fan until I can get a shorter one.

I saw the compatibility was only for Mini-ITX motherboards is it possible to put a ATX motherboard in here? The motherboard I am looking to use is a MSI H97 GAMING 3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

this case will only hold a Mini-ITX there is not a possible way to mount anything else unless you cut the case up and remove one side it is the perfect design for Mini-ITX and with the right mother board and Video Card it will rival any full ATX board and case.

Does it comes with a cd rom drive bay?

No it does not. But it wasn't a problem for me as I just used a usb to load drivers,windows, etc... I have had this case for about a year now and absolutely love it! It's the perfect size and with water cooling is virtually silent. In the almost 1 year I have had it, I have not used a cd since. So if you don't use cd's much it shouldn't matter. Also it's so easy to open the case you could plug a cd drive in within 15 sec. I wouldn't let this hold you back from getting it unless you use cd's more than like once every month.

Is there a way to get a DDR4 build in this case?

I don't think any mini itx mobos support ddr4 yet which is the largest mobo this case will fit without some over the top frame changing modding.  So the answer is no.  You'll just have to wait until they release a mini itx board that supports ddr4.

Question 6

What CPU Cooler should I use? I am planning on putting in an intel i5 6600k.

I used an air cooler for that same CPU.  The Cryorig H7 fits perfectly, with 10-15mm clearance above to the case.  You do need to install it before putting the mobo in place, there's not enough room to install it in place.

And I'd really recommend connecting the CPU power cable (4-pin connector) before installing the motherboard, it's a tight fit to snake the cable in between the CPU cooler and the back of the case.

Is the front I/O illuminated red on the black version?

Yes, the fan control has 3 LED's, the Center USB icon is illuminated, along with the headphone and microphone icons and the start/stop button. The restart button illuminates when pressed.

Is the connection for the Front Panel USB 3.0 a motherboard connector or is it a pass-through USB cable?

The usb 3.0 front panel has a direct connection to the usb header on the motherboard.

The Z97-PRO is a full size atx motherboard, so no it will not fit. Personally I use a Z97I-PLUS, which seems to be close to what you are looking for with the Z97-PRO.

I am unsure on the PSU, that one looks longer than the standard model and it may collide with the hard disk bay.

The graphics card depends on the manufacturer, I personally have an Asus Strix GTX970, a rather large card and it fits. The vertical space will accommodate most cards the length fits with less than 1cm of space with the Strix, which is 28cm long.

With the H110, it will fit however with my motherboard, the Z97I-PLUS, the heat sink on the cpu power would have collided with one of the fans of my H105 (mine is running with only one fan on it). I would also advise keeping in mind the size and position of your ram, as it may conflict with the fan as well.

So in the end: No, not with that current build as your motherboard is too big. (possible issue with power supply if you want disk drives)

Question 10

The cables that are supposed to connect the front panel usb 3.0 ports are too short to plug into my asus mini itx rog board. What can I do to fix this?

Valarie, the cable in my case can reach the very back of my motherboard. There is a enough space for the cable to tucked between the plastic shell and the metal frame. Take out the front fan cover/dust filter and shine a light up there. You should be able to see if that is the problem.
