I'm looking for an ssd and I am wondering why the 240 GB Neutron XT is less than than the 120 GB Neutron GTX. Isn't the XT supposed to be better?

I am a little confused with your question.  You are comparing two Neutron XT SSD's and you ask if the XT isn't better.  That is comparing apples to apples.  I presume you meant to ask if the 240 GB wasn't better than the 120 GB.  I went to the Corsair website and they do not list the 120 GB Neutron XT, but they do list the 240 Neutron XT twice with two different prices.  This is on the same page.  I think it must be a typo.  Normally the higher capacity SSD's cost more than the lower capacity ones as long as they are of the same model.  (In this case Neutron XT).  I purchased my first SSD (Corsair Neutron 240 GB) in June of 2013 and in early 2015 I purchased the Neutron XT 240 GB to use as a back up.  These are the problems that I found.  The Neutron XT does not format out at 240 GB, even through my Neutron does.  The XT formats out much less than its stated size.  I presume the same will be true for the 120 GB version.  Secondly the Corsair program to keep your SSD running well (Corsair SSD Toolbox) which is available online would not copy my first Corsair SSD to the new SSD.  When I contacted Corsair about this problem I was told that I would need to obtain a 3rd party program to do this.  There are SSD's available from other manufacturers (Samsung has a great one) that do provide programs free of charge that will accomplish this vital task.  I would definitely check this out before I made a purchase of an SSD.

Is this compatible with a Dell XPS L502?

I am using my XT on a computer that uses the Intel Z-87 chipset and Windows 7.  There are no problems.  I understand that some of the older chipsets as well as older versions of Windows will not work with SSD's such as the XT.  If your Dell is of a design that uses the 4th generation Intel I series processor and is using either Windows 7 or 8.1 you should be OK.  If your computer is older then you need to contact Dell support for an answer.  As to fitting in your laptop in the place of your existing hard drive, this may be a problem.  Again, you need to contact Dell support and ask them this question.

that laptop has the gen2 micro sata interface which i dont think this SSD has the same interface setup so i would have to say no.
