is this item battery operated? Or by cord?

there aren't many that are battery operated most, including this one is operated by cord or a power wire.  Since this is a case fan, it wouldn't make much sense to have it battery operated

Question 2

I was wondering if the issue with mounting the fans horizontally will still produce the clicking sound that everyone has complained with, has it been fixed? That is the only thing stopping me from grabbing these fans and I'm aiming for a really quiet PC and the clicking sound will not let me reach that goal.

I've had NO problem with clicking sounds with this fan mounted horizontally. This fan moves the air quietly and satisfies my cooling.
My fan isn't noisy.

As for the clicking sound, possibly the screws (or a screw) were not tight enough, producing a clicking.

Are these suited for radiators or case fans only?

It'll depend on the radiator and the layout of your case.  If the radiator has 120mm fan mounts and you have the mounting clearance for the depth of the radiator and this fan, then it should work.

Would this fan be a good fan to attach onto a "CORSAIR Hydro Series h50" in place of the stock fan already on it?

I am currently using this fan on both a corsair h100 (pushing air and pulling air with a total of four fans) and also on a Cooler Master 212.  They push a lot of air and run quietly.   IMO they are a better fan than the stock fans that came with my h100 since they run so much quieter

Looking for 80mm fans that are just as good as these, quiet, reliable, moves a lot of air into case.. Can someone recommend me one?

sorry, i only have 120mm fans, but if you have a mobo with 4-pin connectors, you can connect 3-pin fans to them no problem. there will just be an extra pin that is unused but everything still works like it's supposed to, i think the 4th pin just gives a little extra control.

Has anyone used these to replace the noisy fans in the ABS Dreadnought? Were they quieter? Looking to reduce the fan noise in my new ABS when playing WOW. Thanks

What are the hole pattern dimensions?

Across the top 4 3/4 inch or 120mm, center of hole to center of hole across the top is 4 3/16 inch. The fan is square so the dimension's are the same for all sides.
Diagonally center to center of holes is 5 7/8 inches or 150 mm

I have four of these fans in my case for a year with no complaints.

Couldn't find an accurate answer to this on other websites. The fan I want to replace with this is 90mm along one edge, but it is 120mm diagonally. Will this 120mm fan fit?

This particular thread is asking about the Pantum printer, but I would hazard a guess that a 90mm fan will NOT fit in to replace a 120mm fan.  The holes will be too far apart.

Should I buy the Cougar CF-V12HP Vortex or the CF-V12H? Which one is better in terms of good air flow, cooling, and noise level?

I used 2 of the Cougars in a push-pull on my H100 cooler and left 2 of the stock on the bottom side for comparison. The Cougar's were way more quieter and pushed more air.

can't give you exact length but more than enough to connect anywhere inside a Cooler Master HAF 912 mid tower case.
I just installed 4 (one side, one rear, 2 top) and made all connections to my front panel fan controller. There was more than enough length to be able to run the cables neatly and out of the way.
