Will I have to deactivate the on board BeatsAudio in my HP Envy desktop via the bios before I can install the Soundblaster?

Accepted Answer

No.  I didn't have to disable the onboard audio to use my Audigy.  It is a good practice to disable onboard devices that you don't plan to use or replace with a pci-e device.

If you have both sound cards enabled, you may need to select which device to use.  For example, if you have onboard sound, add-on sound, and Bluetooth sound; you need to select which is default, etc.

ter Audigy Fx 5.1 Sound Card, I purchased the item a month ago,

although the mobo has a PCIe x1 I do not dare to plug-in the

Audigy FX, would somebody tell me if it wil work? I need the card

The sound card is designed for an PCIe x1 slot and should work fine. Even other slot sizes will work. I have mine plugged in an empty x16 slot.

I only have 2.1 audio speakers/woofer - will this card work with this?

Yes.  I currently use 2.1 speakers.  You config the Audigy software to what speaker setup you are using.  5.1 simply means the Audigy software supports using 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer but is able to use a lower setup.

Question 4

Are there any problems with the Windows 10 drivers for this card?  I am buying this card because Win 10 doesn't like my native Prime B360M-A motherboard native sound.  I want to be sure it will like this card.

I installed this card on a Win 7 PC and ran it for several months. I connected the Logitech Z906 system.  Works great.  I had the option to do the Win 10 upgrade.  The card still works great.  The driver installed is Creative, date 2/7/17, version 6.0.103.34

I hope that there are options as to which sample rate I may use, other than just the 192,000 HZ, such as 44,100 HZ, etc? May I also lower the bit rate to say, 16, or 20, or whatever, instead of the RAM hungry 24 bit if I so wish? So, due to the addition of this card, I assume that the headphone input on my Dell XPS 8700 would disable, and I would need to plug my headphones into the "Front Green Input" on the card? Thanks in advance...

Yes, you'll be able to use 8k, 16k, 32k, 48k, 96k, 192k, 22.050k, 44.1k, (not sure about 88.2k/176.4k though), and 8, 16, and 24 bits (not sure about 20bits). The current headphone jack will still work with the old sound card, but to use the new one you'll need to use the jack on it, yes.

Yes, I have been using this card for almost two years and when I upgraded to windows 10 about a year ago and have not experienced and issue's. Works just as well as it did on windows 7

Is this compatible with an Asus Z87 Pro motherboard?

As long as your motherboard has a PCI x1 slot you should be able to use this card.  Plus you might want to make sure that you can disable the onboard audio if you have it (which I believe you can).

Not sure... I used it on a Windows 8 machine.
The specs indicate it will also work on Win 7 & & Vista.

On my computer the sound jacks are 3 on top and 3 on the bottom rather than in a row, like the illustration on your website shows for this sounds car. My computer is an HP Pavilion model p6674y. Will this sound card work?

Yes, But... only if you have a PCIe slot on your motherboard.
Open the box, count the pins and compare it to the illustration.
Older computers do NOT have PCIe slots... the have PCI.
