Does this card use the old 2 speakers that originally came with my old rebuilt tower?  Or do I have to buy new speakers?

I am using the same speakers that I have used since the 90's when I had the Sound Blaster Live card.  I don't think you will have a problem, though I am not sure what card or mother board you had.  I don't think you will have a problem as all my mother boards accepted my speakers with no problems.

This is a great card and I am so happy that I picked the right one.  There were some reviews that made me a little weary, but I am glad that I took the chance.  I love this card, works perfectly!

I can't tell from the pictures of the i/o but does this have 2 MIC inputs?  I'd like to use this for a karaoke system and if it has 2 mic in, that would be great.

Yes, the top two inputs on the Audigy Rx are for Mic's.

Do the front panel ports connected to the internal header count as an input and output channel seperate from the onboard input and output?  e.g. Can I play audio on the main speakers while simultaneously using a headset?

The Audigy RX 7 is a full duplex sound card, meaning you can record and have playback at the same time. As for have simultaneous play back on a headset and speaker, I'm guessing your looking for a DJ feature, which would be typically handled by the software.

Do you need to install the accompanying software to be able to use this card? Don't plan on getting a CD drive with my new computer, wondering if I would at least need a temporary one.

Works immediately with Windows 10.  Gone are the "not-so-good-old-days" of having to install driver updates for name brand components.  Windows 10 is good enough to detect this card as soon as you log in, install needed drivers, put it in the audio menu, and play sound through it as soon as you can connect your receiver, TV, or speakers :)

At least this was my own personal experience around February of 2020 when I installed mine.

Where do I get the drivers for Windows 8.1?

When you are ready to install the card, before powering down right click Computer -- Properties -- Device Manager - Sound,Video,Game controller.   Find the current sound card and right click -- Uninstall.

Power down -- remove current sound if discrete

Install new card -- Power on and Windows will install new drivers.

The motherboard offers one Pci-e x1 expansion slot that this card requires. Check to verify said expansion slot is not already in use before purchase.

Why would you want to do that?  Your MB has HD audio.  Looking at a picture of the PCI slot on the MB it looks like it will not work.
