Im trying to fill my second memory slot, its a gateway Ne71B06 Laptop. Will this ram fit? its been a while since ive done anything hardware wise so im a bit fuzzy and ive also never done anything other than desktop upgrades. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction! ugh laptops are just a world of trouble compared to my desktop haha :) thankyou in advance very much

Your laptop has 2 slots for memory sticks and can use up to 8GB maximum. Your laptop should also support dual channel memory configurations. You will need to make sure that you have 2 matching sticks of the same size and preferably the same model memory or you could have performance issues.

Okay, so this ram works good according to you guys...it has more positive then negative.

All I know is that its the same speed as my other ram.

But their is one question I want to ask you guys.

It says "Features Compatibility: Intel DZ75ML-45K Motherboard" does that mean it only works for that mother board or can it works on other?

Typically that statement means that the memory model was tested by Intel and found to be compatible with that Chipset based motherboard.  It will be compatible with a majority of the motherboards that will handle that memory type and speed.

Is their anyway you know if your motherboard accepts 240 pin? Cause all I know is that my other ram is DDR3 RAM 1600 4GB . All I know is that it has the same speed and it's ddr3 like my other ram.

Generally 240-pin DDR3 RAM is for desktops and 204-pin DDR3 RAM is for laptops. I suggest you find your system board's model number, usually somewhere near its edge, and perform a Web search for its capabilities.  If you already have a stick of RAM that works in your system board, do a Web search on its model number to determine how many pins it has.  In addition to the number of pins, pay attention to the speed.  Only install sticks having speeds compatible with your system board.  Some older boards require sticks in matching pairs.  Some system boards also have a specific order for installation of sticks, depending on how many you're going to install.  "All I know is," just like the words their, there, and their, you must use the right RAM for the situation!  ;-)

Is this compatible with the Dell Inspirion 3847?

According to the Dell specs for that model, yes.  I tried to include a link to the specs, but Newegg does not allow it apparently (lame).  The motherboard in this model only has two memory slots, so you can only fit two of these max.  That is, if you replace what is already installed in it.  That would give you 8 GBs of memory.

No. According to support-dot-dell-dot-com you have Dual In-line Memory Module, 4G, 4X1G, 800, CL6. All those are DDR2. Your computer is too old for DDR3, it wont fit. I want to install in HP Compaq 6005 Pro 64 bit microtower, but the hardware specs say it needs to be (PC3 10600) and latency 8 or 9, will this still work?

It will work if you only use this chip.  If you plan on ADDING this chip to the one thats already in there then no, it has to be the same speed which is PC3 12800.

How would I install ram if I have an odd number of sticks? Do I just have to make sure I fill the slots in the order 2,4,1,3?

It depends on the motherboard. Some don't care where you put it and recognize it just fine, others are picky about where you put it and simply don't boot. You won't hurt anything with the trial and error method. Try a slot, if it doesn't boot, pull the plug, try the other slot. try to match the RAM you have as far as speed and timing goes, the machine will default to whatever the slowest stick is. Also, be sure your motherboard is capable to handle the capacity of the RAM stick that you are putting in or it won't boot. This information is usually available at the manufacturers website.

Short answer, no,this is not Laptop RAM, you will need DDR3 1333 (or 1600 may work) SO-DIMM, I think your laptop will handle 8gb sticks.
