This review is from: Collection LED 6 Watt Light Bulbs, Daylight Color (Pack of 4)
Pros: The 5k "cool white" or "daylight" as they specify is nice. It's the color I expected, and wanted.
Cons: Housing gets warm, but that's somewhat to be expected with this high of lumens in an LED bulb.
Other Thoughts: I've had quite a few different LED bulbs in the past few years, and these perform great
The 4 I got consumed 5.6, 5.8, 5.8, and 6.1 watts, as measured by my kill-a-watt.
This review is from: ZALMAN VF900 – CU 2 Ball VGA Cooler
Pros: Very quiet, very effective, only one expansion slot in size
Cons: A little heavy, but I guess with that much copper that would be expected. I built a plexiglass support for it since I have a mATX motherboard and case, it was only about 3 inches off the bottom of the case.
I hate the "Fan Mate" controllers, but it's optional anyway. May re-wire them to use the fan plugs on the graphics card later, but for now, they work.
Other Thoughts: I bought two of these to replace the stock cooler(s) for my 4850x2 card. It dropped the temperatures for idle from 48/44 to 40/37 for the two cores, and the load temperatures from 78/75 to 68/64 for the two. So I'm pretty happy with that.
Make sure you mount them with the correct orientation though. I wasn't paying attention and mounted one of them rotated 90 degrees and the cooler hit the PCI socket and prevented the graphics card from seating properly.
This review is from: Patriot Torqx TRB 2.5" 32GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PT32GS25SSDR
Pros: Fast read speeds
Cons: It doesn't come with a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter bracket, but the description doesn't say it comes with one, so no reduction.
No rating reduction since it's clearly stated in the description:
Only 60MB/s write speed is a little slow (but still installed Win7HP in about the same time as installing it on the SATA 7200rpm hard drive)
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a 500GB hard drive in my HTPC. The HTPC is connected by 1Gbps LAN to my file server for Music, Recorded TV, etc so I didn't need the 500GB. I wanted a faster boot for turning on the HTPC for use. This SSD works fantastic. I was looking for something with fast read speeds, between 20-40GB in size, and cheap. This fit the bill, and the 60MB/s write didn't bother me since the majority of what I'd doing was reading anyway.
I streamlined my Windows 7 to get rid of language files, help documents, tablet input support, and printer drivers, and a few other randoms. Overall I saved about 2GB. I've installed Power DVD 10, iMon (for my HTPC case's front display), Netflix Media Center Add-on, and all the latest updates, and still have around 10GB of space left.
Excellent drive for an HTPC, or thin client. Does exactly what it says it will do, if you read the specs, you get what it says it will do.
