3 out of 5 eggs It works but... 03/29/2014

This review is from: COOLER MASTER RR-VTPS-28PK-R1 92mm Long life sleeve CPU Cooler

Pros: Fan is quit, easy to install with AMD CPU. Not as tall as other products. Fits well were vertical space is limited.

Cons: Surface that contacts CPU is not machined. It is an aluminum block with heat pipes pressed in. There are small gaps were the flat aluminum block and the round heat pipes meet.

Other Thoughts: I contacted Cooler Master and asked if this product was built correctly. There answer was yes, they are sorry for the misunderstanding. They are working on getting more accurate pictures for this product.

AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W FD6300WMHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Build is for a media center PC. Prior build could no longer keep up with streaming video. No longer have that problem. Not even pushing the CPU, should have a few years of growth in it. As always no problems with AMD product, easy to install cpu cooler.

Cons: CPU cooler is undersized. How can a six core heat sink be smaller then a quad core. Yes there are more and finer fins but the hot air still has to get away from the heat sink. CPU fan had to speed up when the computer was at idle and the case was open. Fan was very loud when CPU was being used. Will add it to scrap metal pile once I get an after market CPU cooler.

Other Thoughts: Processor good, CPU cooler junk.

HAWKING HOWABN1 Hi-Gain Outdoor Wireless-300N Multifunction Access Point

4 out of 5 eggs security camera network 06/21/2011

This review is from: HAWKING HOWABN1 Hi-Gain Outdoor Wireless-300N Multifunction Access Point

Pros: One Ethernet wire for power and communication. Good hardware design, easy to attach antenna’s and mount to pole. Purchased one and set it up in universal repeater mode. Unit is located about 115 feet from router in house and is repeating signal to IP camera about 200 feet away. So far no problems, unit is sitting outside on a temporary pole sitting in two cement blocks.

Cons: POE injector has a cheap look and feel to it. Power on indicator works, there are two other indicators but they don't seem to do anything. This is not a negative but I had to find something I didn't like about the unit.

Other Thoughts: Going to purchase a second unit to attach to IP camera to improve network response. Wireless signal from camera to HOWABN1 is weak. Issue is with the camera not the HOWABN1. Tested by attaching a WRT54g set up as a bridge to camera and network response was much better.
