Invoice
Pros: Yes, you did get an invoice when you ordered it from newegg. Either print the email with subject "newegg.com - invoice" or log into your account on newegg and print the order summary from your account. Any document with the order date and price on it will work fine.
Cons: People who don't know what they're doing write reviews that don't make any sense.
Pros: Free after rebate
Cons: Not recognized as a headset by my galaxy S3 android phone. The phone recognizes them as headphones. Volume buttons don't work with my phone. Center button DOES work to end calls or bring up google now. Basically, they're headphones. Anything else is bonus.
Overall Review: I can't test the microphone because my phone only recognizes them as headphones.
Works great, but why isn't the price dropping?
Pros: I bought this in November 2011. It's been working great for me ever since, with one exception (see cons).
Cons: After more than a year of use, one of the sticks failed. I started getting really weird error messages, and when I ran memtest86, it showed failed RAM. I isolated the problem to one of the four sticks, removed the faulty stick and a working stick from the companion slot, and I was back up and running right away with 8GB of ram. I initiated a warranty replacement with corsair, and they shipped me a replacement set of all four sticks, and then I sent the set with the defective set back to them. Total downtime was about an hour while I troubleshot the problem, then 2-3 days running on 8GB of ram. That's pretty darn good for a RAM failure, so I'm not deducting an egg.
Overall Review: In November 2011, I paid $89 for this on a shell shocker special. I don't remember for sure what the regular price was back then, but I think it was close to $150. 20 months later, it's selling for $149. I guess I got a better deal than I thought, because I would have expected the price to have dropped considerably almost two years later. It doesn't show me as a "verified owner" because I bought this under a different account. Someone hacked into that account, tried and failed to order a gift card with my credit card, and newegg locked the account permanently. No amount of pleading with customer service or escalation to higher levels made any difference.
