Awesome gaming CPU
Pros: Overclocks to 4GHz with ease!
Cons: None.
Nice board, bad service
Pros: Quiet, low heat, Runs Win7/XMBC/1080p no problem. Great board for an HTPC as long as you don't need an RMA.
Cons: No advanced RMA option. You need to send in your item, wait several days for processing then days more for return shipping.
Overall Review: No advanced RMA? Really? Even if I pay a free? No? Wow, even Dell does that! You're not going to repair my board, so just ship me my replacement the next day and let me use that packing material to return the defective one back. Bill me the price of the board and shipping now, credit back the board charge when you get the defective unit back. Simple. Just ask any of your competitors. Seriously, this is the first piece of PC tech that I could not get an advanced RMA for... and I've worked in hardware support for years. Having a system down for over a week just isn't acceptable service these days.
Good while it lasts
Pros: Plays 1080p, has optical and hmdi
Cons: Poor CS, poor quality board. 2nd time I've had to RMA this thing in 7 months. The replacement only lasted 2 weeks, was shipped back in inside-out used boxes. The tracking number they provided wasn't valid but at least it showed up.
Overall Review: As soon as I saw all the spelling and grammatical errors in their RMA forms and emails I knew I was dealing with a low-end company. The cheap return packaging, incorrect tacking number and poor communication sealed it. 2 dead/dying boards, three weeks of downtime in the seven months and over $30 in return shipping. This is the last Asrock board for me.
6 months, one dead stick
Pros: Looks cool, fits under the cpu cooler.
Cons: ASRock board failed to ID it properly, one stick is failing after 6 months.
Overall Review: --== No Advanced RMA from G.Skill. ==-- By the time I send my RAM to them, wait for them to test it then mail the replacements, it's 2 weeks. So basically, warranty or not, I need to buy new RAM. I will not buy G.Skill again as Kingston, Corsair, Patriot, Crucial, and more all offer advanced replacements.
