Outstanding Monitor

SCEPTRE X270W-1080P Black 27" 2ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 DC 60000:1(1000:1), US Warranty
SCEPTRE X270W-1080P Black 27" 2ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 DC 60000:1(1000:1), US Warranty

Pros: Great picture quality, matte screen finish which reduces any glare, sturdy build and seemingly long lasting.

Cons: After a few years, the buttons have become less responsive. I have to keep hitting the button a few times for the menu. Speakers are not adequate but usable.

Overall Review: I have now owned this monitor for 5 years and with the exception of the buttons, it's still working as it did since day one. Picture quality is still outstanding, I use it for both my PC and my Xbox 360 and I've used it for other gaming consoles such as the Wii U. Every pixel is still alive and kicking. I was worried about buying this because it's a brand I've never heard of before. I think my worries have been laid to rest after 5 years of constant daily usage.

Pros: Nearing 3 years of use on this laptop and it's still running as strong as day one with the exception that I did finally drop Windows 7 on it, which was a wise move. I've also had a duel boot setup with Windows 7 and a variation of Ubuntu and no issues(until a linux update trashed GRUB and I had to re-install MBR). Even with a current Linux this thing works with no problems. From Windows 7(have not tried Windows 8 yet as I simply do not have a copy of it yet to try, but did try the Windows 8 previews in a virtual machine on this laptop under Windows 7 and no problems there) to Linux, from MS Office to GTA San Andreas and from Netflix to Sony Vegas Pro this laptop has taken everything I've thrown at it without even blinking.

Cons: The only real con here is that this laptop is seems to be no longer available to purchase. :-( Well that, and the flashy annoying lights on this thing. But that can be resolve by going to going to the ASUS site and tracking down the software for this laptop which has a control program for dealing with the lights.
