Great Price, Great Product.

Pros: 4 TB HDD for much less than they used to be. My laptop has a 1TB internal HDD in it and I filled that up pretty fast. I like to call myself a bit of a gamer but that 1 TB filled up fast. I gave this critter a look and decided to give it a try. I've had good luck with Seagate drives in the past but haven't had to tinker on or bump anything up in my computers for a year or two so I'm a bit rusty. I decided to slave out an external drive and just go with that rather than destroy my laptop to replace the hdd that came with it. The price was PERFECT (well, free would be perfect but the price was very good), delivery was within two weeks and it's simply all plug and play from there. I've been moving data from several thumb drives and from the laptop's main hdd onto this Seagate most of the day. It's quick to receive the info and I've had no qualms with it so far... but it's only been a bit over 12 hours since I received it. It's about the size of one of those "At A Glance" pocket address books (yeah, I still use one... habit), compact, sturdy (so far), black case with a diamond design, a blue power light and it comes with a ten inch (or thereabouts) USB cord that's used to supply the power and the info feed from the computer to the external drive. I've been cleaning off my laptop's main drive and moving things to this one for storage. That's basically all I'm going to use it for is storage and as a satellite drive that I'll load some non-critical, benign programs to. I did load a FPS game to it (one of my tests re: speed, response for most of the drives I've bought over the years) and I'm okay with the drives performance in a mid level FPS game, so far. Remember, I've only been using it for around 12 hrs so far. I'm pretty sure it's going to be okay but, I've been rudely surprised in the past. If I find any problems with it later I'll update my review or write a new one. There's no noise associated with the drive that I can tell, it's very quiet but then again, I'm a ten year wearer of hearing aids and still can't hear squat so don't take my word for that. My wife tells me it's quiet. I'm good to go with her ears report over mine. Overall, I'm happy with it even though I've only been using it for a bit over twelve hours now. Again, I'll get back on here and adjust this comment accordingly if I have any new pros or cons to attribute to the device. Newegg's fast delivery kind of caught me off guard. They're good to go with me. I didn't have to wait two weeks longer than the promised delivery date to get it like I've had to do with other sellers in the past and the product is exactly as it was described, simple to set up and was up and running in minutes after I got it out of the box. I'm still transferring files to it and playing a game or two just to challenge the device. Media works, plays fine from the files I've loaded onto it earlier. If I truly had a need I'd buy another one or a larger one, but I don't. This drive suits me fine, for now. I might buy a larger storage drive later. # >>>>>>>>>> 05/27/21 I STOPPED BACK BY TO ADJUST MY REVIEW IN THE "OVERALL REVIEW" SECTION BELOW AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF HARD USE. I'm still a fan... probably more-so. It's performing better than I expected. Next review will be a year from now, if something changes.
Cons: It's really too early to tell. I'll come back and update this if I have a problem. I can normally be able to gauge most computer related products I've reviewed in the past relatively early after bringing them up online. This one's seamless re: installation. It's free of surprises so far and I like the size and the overall solid build it seems to have. I'd throw some technical stuff out but I don't think it's necessary. This drive fits my needs. # >>>>>>>>> As of 05/27/2021 there's no negative changes to my purchase and use of this Seagate Portable Hard Drive 4TB HDD.
Overall Review: Though it's still a bit early in the drive's use I'm impressed with the drive, the speed of it, the 4tb. HDD storage space, the installation, the seller and the seller's customer care re: getting the drive to me prior to the expected delivery date. The price is right, the drive is quiet, aesthetic, compact and seemingly durable. But then again I've only had it for a handful of hours. If anything changes I'll adjust the comments. P.S. I tried to attach a photo of the drive connected to the laptop while I'm writing this but the phone's camera just won't cooperate. # >>>>>>>>>>> 05/27/2021 An update to the overall review (and the other parts of this review). The drive got a little hotter than I preferred when it was slaved out and sitting flat on the desktop. I have a pack of those little, clear glue-on "spacers" so I put one in each of the four corners on the bottom of the drive, raising it off of the desktop about a quarter of an inch rather than leaving it sit wholly on the desktop. The airflow underneath the enclosed drive after I put the spacers on each of the drives corners seems to have cured the heat problem tremendously. There's no fan involved, all's self enclosed in the drive but that little bit of space gained by the spacers seems to have done the trick. It's no longer heating up anything like it did shortly after I received it. I run it anywhere from 4-8 or more hours a day and have not had any problems. I've transferred my non-critical files to the drive and am even storing photos, running some games and accessing STEAM, ORIGIN, UPLAY/UBISOFT and other sites with little or no lag. I'm a fan of this drive. It was a great investment from my point of view. I'll be back another day if anything changes on my end.
Lasted 4.5 months

Pros: I got 4.5 months out of the board. Small, compact. Plenty of USB ports ( 3 x 3.0 and 5 x 2.0), an HD Audio jack, an RJ-45 ethernet port, 1 x DVI-D and 1 x S-Sub (VGA) port.
Cons: It had all kinds of hiccups during that 4.5 months. It was the motherboard of a mid-level gaming computer I bought in mid October. I was playing BF 4 on it and noted I was getting some artifacting, ghosts, stutters and the occasional drop from the game while playing so I monitored the heat a bit more while playing and found it was heating up a little but not to any degree that should harm the board. I originally thought it didn't have enough fans for a mid level gamer so I put an additional fan (external) that blew on the computer and that seemed to have calmed it down... for a month. Finally, one day while I was playing a quick round or two it totally died on me. The onboard graphics (Radeon HD 8670D Graphics) evidently torched... I replaced it with a Sapphire toxic R9 270X PCIe GPU and bumped up the power supply with a Rosewill 850W but the motherboard would have nothing to do with it. It was done... toast. So, if you're getting it for a mid level gamer, don't. Luckily, the folks that I bought the computer from are doing an RMA for a new motherboard. They're standing behind their product. Also cons but they fall in line with the motherboard's compact size. Only three expansion slots- PCIe 2.0(x16) (running x16), PCIe 2.0(x1) slot and 1 PCI slot. No HDMI port and no wireless but I remedied the wireless with a simple fob purchase. I don't think they put too much thought in the board's layout. There's just doesn't seem to be enough room to add cooling peripherals, etc. It gets hot fast. I used the stock (300 watt) power supply for the first 3 months and was getting all kids of ghosts, etc. in BF4. I put an externally powered fan on the machine and installed the 850 watt power supply and it ran at about the same temperature... a bit less. I just don't think the board could handle the graphics that was stock on the board. If you're going to use this board for gaming then buy a separate gpu, imho.
Overall Review: I expect another ASRock board to come back my way via the computer company's RMA. I'll give that a go and see where it takes me. I have 7 more months on my warranty. All's good with the computer manufacturer so far.
Pleasantly Surprised.

Pros: My new laptop didn't have a cd/dvd drive in it so I bought this satellite drive to use. It's a great little drive, lightweight, compact, does the trick and responds fast for a satellite drive. It's R/RW and comes ready to hook up to the laptop and get the work done. Shipping was fast, price was right and it's durable.
Cons: It can get a little noisy if you're working on things in the wee hours of the morning or whatever. I don't seem to notice it but my wife did.
Overall Review: If you need a satellite DVD/CD external drive the yeah, go for it. Again, the price is right, the product's compact, fast, quiet and plug and play. I'd buy it again if I had the need.
Sturdy, did the trick!

Pros: I ordered two of these and was pleasantly surprised re: the sturdiness of them. They were a quick fix for a new coax cable I needed to make. If I need more I'll be back.
Cons: None that I can really think of. Simple coax connector stuff.
Overall Review: If you need to do some of your own cable builds or repairs these connectors will do the trick.
A work horse!

Pros: PROS: When I bought a gaming computer from iBuyPower I bought one with a 250W GPU knowing I had the Rosewill HIVE in my HP. I replaced the 250W PSU in the iBuyPower computer with this PSU and have not had ANY problems with it at all... and I game hard with that computer... (All online, multiplayer Battlefield franchise from BF 1942 through BF4. Titanfall, Crysis, SOF, etc.). I have yet to have any problems with this PSU.
Cons: None noted after 2 plus years of use other than what I noted below, and that's not really a "CON". It fit without modifying either the case or the PSU. CONS: If you want to call it a con maybe it would be the "fit". I had to struggle a little to get it seated properly but once it fell in it fit like a glove. The mounting screw holes lined up and the PSU is a solid fit.
Overall Review: INSTALL: Physically, it's a larger PSU so make sure it will fit in your computer case prior to purchasing. It comes with more than enough connections for my gamer and the HP and it was simple to install and connect. I had no issues installing it. OVERALL: I bought this PSU through Newegg over two years ago if I recall. I have big hands, arthritic fingers, little patience so this can be a challenge for me re: the confined spaces a computer has for me to work in. NO PROBLEMS here, I've installed this PSU in two different computers now. The first one, an HP pavilion, dual core, 16 gb RAM that I was using for everyday work AND the occasional gaming (BF BC2, BF 3). Unlike the stock 250 Watt PSU that came with the computer the Rosewill never overloaded and ran much quieter. It stayed cool and I never had any issues with the PSU or any loading up by the computer that I could attribute to the PSU. It's durable, I've never had any issues with it and it supplies the power needed to run the two computers I've installed it in with no issues whatsoever. If you're looking for a great, economical PSU I recommend you get this one.
Great Deal

Pros: I bought this to replace a 250gb drive in an HP Pavilion g series laptop. The laptop was given to me and the drive that came with it was fried so I replaced it with the HGST. It's been up and running for about three months with no glitches whatsoever. I've been playing some low-mid level games on it (BF, BF2142, Crysis, etc.) with some pretty good success. I bought an HP restore disk from the factory and have Windows 7 as the OS. So far, so good.
Cons: It was a bit skinny for the HP but once it was anchored it didn't seem to matter. That's really not a con. I had to dig deep to find a con. Maybe I could throw in the fact taht it didn't fit the protective sleeve that was on the drive I replaced (too thin for the sleeve) but I made the sleeve work. Although I could've just as well ordered another for it when I bought the drive.
Overall Review: If you're looking for a cheap (price), durable drive for your laptop I recommend you give it a try. It's in a hand-me-down, previously fried laptop that I got for free and after investing 100 dollars (this hard drive and the restore disk) and some change I have a very operable, very reliable and fun laptop. I highly recommend this drive.
As Expected. Great Price, Fantastic Product.
I have a new, gaming laptop but unfortunately the internal SSD that came with the laptop was fairly small. I'm an old, grumpy gamer these days but I still like to play them. I needed something with some more storage space for the BattleField, Crysis, Assassin's Creed (and more) games so I grabbed that little Seagate 4TB SATA drive for a very reasonable price. I went standard shipping because I'm cheap and it got here three days before expected. The drive was immediately noticed by the computer, installed and is now the drive I'm loading all for my BF, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, MOH and several other games on. The drive's performing perfectly. I can play the games at upper levels (well, my play's fallen off a bit but the programs perform perfectly) and I'm back to having a ball in my retirement days. If you're looking for a very affordable, solid 4TB SATA drive at a very reasonable price then I'd recommend going for it. I shopped around at other sites and Newegg had the best price so, as usual they got the sale. I highly recommend this drive for a data drive or even a gaming drive. I've been using it for a bit of both. I have many, many, many photos and files I've transferred over to the drive and still have plenty of room left. The best part of this whole external drive idea of mine was that I could keep the factory SSD that came with the laptop and slave out the Seagate, effectively giving me 4TB of space that's more than enough to handle my needs though, in the beginning I did consider mirroring the factories internal SSD to a larger solid state drive but it was cost prohibitive for me, me living on retirement income and all. In short, it's a great drive, was immediately recognize by my new laptop and yes, I can play my games directly from the storage drive without any incidents (other than my less than stellar game play these days. I'll catch up. It's been awhile since I played those interactive Battlefield, MOH and other FPS games. AND, I have tons of space for storing all of my digital pics, docs, info... I'd buy another one if I had the need. I'm good to go with what I have. NewEgg did their usual good deal, it arrived two days before expected, it was simple to "install" and it's quiet, stays relatively cool and is outta sight, outta mind. Thanks,
As expected!
There was no need for me to contact New Egg's customer service. I went the snail mail route and expected some time between my order and the receipt of that order. That considered, I received the drive three days before the delivery date of the order. The drive installed immediately and is running great. It's a sturdy, slim, portable cd\dvd writer. I like the brushed metal surface case that the writer's housed in and the compact size of the writer. I bought it as an attachment to a new laptop I received earlier from my family. I didn't order the fast shipping but I wasn't in any rush. New Egg always has reasonable prices and the follow up to the sale is always positive in my past experiences. This is why I continue to shop here. As usual, I'll be back... there's a bit more time between visits these days but I'm still shopping here.
Exactly What My PC Needed
My gaming computer was overheating bad over the past several months and after installing more fans, re-applying some new thermal paste, etc. I couldn't get the machine to get any real practical (low) CPU and internal temperatures. I was gauging the temps via SPECCY, Speed Fan, Windows and a couple of other programs out there. They were all pretty consistent. WAY TOO HIGH. 50-70 Centigrade and some higher at peaks. The reapplication of the thermal paste helped reduce the heat a bit but still, it was only a matter of time when it would spike out again or I'd fry the mobo and/or the cpu. I decided to look online to see what NewEgg had to offer. I found an advertisement on OutletPC through NewEgg that had a COOLER MASTER RR-B10-212P-G1 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler on sale. I did my research on it, read some reviews, watched a you tube or two and decided to give it a try. I received the cooler in less time than expected, it had more than I needed in the kit for a quick and thorough installation and I had the computer up and running shortly after completing a rather "matter of fact" removal of the cpu cooling fan, heat sink, etc. There is absolutely no comparison between "then" and "now"! The beast is running full speed in graphics intense games like BF1, BF4, DOOM2, etc. on max settings and the core is running at 28-36 centigrade (depending on which map we're in) which is well below where I was running before. Keep in mind I could only play one or two rounds before without having to log out of the game and let the computer cool for awhile. Now it's "non-stop". I really, really recommend this cooler and the seller. The cooler is a pretty matter of fact, easy installation. Mine came with an AMD and an Intel installation kit. Same cooler, different installs. I have an AMD and within thirty to forty minutes I had it up and running. I will say the only knock would be the rather lacking installation instructions. If you're okay with very simple instructions and pictures then you should be good to go. Either way, if the cpu's overheating, give this cooler a try before dumping the mobo, tossing the cpu, etc. The price was right and the installation wasn't difficult. I did "you tube" the installation of it before I made my order. There's several videos out there on how to install it without too much difficulty. Again, the only knock would be the instructions. Oh, and the one I ordered did come with thermal paste but I already had my own. Sooo, bottom line? A great product from a great seller at a very affordable price! It's pretty much all there for the price. Thanks!
