Pros: replaced a POC D-Link DNS-323 with this and the difference could not be more profound. The management interface is a delight to use, has every single feature you could ever want from a NAS. And my transfer rates went from 15MB/s read and 8 MB/s write to 60MB/s read and 45 MB/s write. Absolutely amazing!

Cons: - Exhibits a very annoying high pitched whining sound, like a dentist drill - Lockups up and makes my primary Intel SSD disappear from the BIOS when hot plugging a device to another SATA port (no matter what configuration of SATA ports I use) - No Firewire

Pros: Sound quality is good, but to be honest I can't tell the difference between it and my onboard sound. And this is running through a set of Boston Acoustics MediaTheatre Pro's. They aren't the best speakers in the world, but they are definitely above average. I guess with all the glowing reviews here, my expectations were set too high.

Cons: The drivers are absolutely horrible for this card. They feel extremely outdated and the developers could not even bother to properly name their executables and change the icon from the default MFC icon. The software isn't signed so you get a pop up when you first restart windows, and why are both 32-bit and 64-bit version of HsMgr required? Seems odd to me. The on-board realtek drivers are far better if you ask me. In addition to the driver problems, I get this odd static from the card whenever an audio stream starts. It seems to go away after a few seconds, but I was completely surprised by it as I haven't heard static from a computer in years. I suppose it has do with the highly analog nature of this card and some interference? I really don't know.

Overall Review: Bought 2 of these based on decent reviews and great price, but they are so slow it almost makes them useless. On both of the new sticks, I get 10MB/s read and 5MB/s write. That is painfully slow and would take a VERY long time to fill one of these things. My 3 year old OCZ Rally 2GB is 3 times as fast as these drives. I would not recommend these drives. The only thing good about them is how they look.
