Very reasonable case at this price point. Alas perfection does appear to be unknowable.
Pros: The power led isn't as retina searingly bright as the one on my last Rosewill case. Holds all the components where they belong. Perfect size. Excellent airflow. It's quieter than the 'silent' Define R4 it's replacing.
Cons: Not every mobo has the USB3 header on the ATX connector edge, so another 2 whole inches on the front panel cable would have been nice.
Overall Review: Seriously with a case this compact why get stingy with the cabling? My choices are run it over top of the video card, straining the connector or severely strain the connector trying to run it underneath. Even 1 extra inch would do it. Minus 1 egg.
Worked for a week
Pros: Superb when it worked. A significant improvement over the 660gtx it was supposed to replace.
Cons: After the first week it started crashing. Reboots the entire system but won't reinitialize without a 2nd intentional restart of the system.
Overall Review: Well let's see what the return process is like.
Almost a perfect value for the price.
Pros: Bought to play Elite Dangerous after seeing a video review. Worked right out of the box and mapping additional functions was pretty simple. Barely have to use the keyboard as far as ship functions are concerned. I even had room to map a couple of power distribution modes. The base has a molded slot that holds an allen wrench that can be used to separate the stick and throttle.
Cons: The cord between the stick and throttle could be longer. If you want a center stick setup it's fine but if you like side-stick forget it. An extra foot of cord or even one that could be easily changed out would earn the full 5 eggs.
Overall Review: I have to say it felt kinda cheesy out of the box but after a bit of game-play I stopped noticing. I bought this because I wanted to get started in Elite Dangerous but couldn't afford the $150+ offerings from other companies. However I will be upgrading to a brand that uses a removable ps2 cable to link the 2 controllers to accommodate my preferred setup.
Their 970 series has put me off of EVGA
Pros: Beautiful pictures. Fits in the slot it is supposed to. Whisper silent *.
Cons: * My definitions of both whisper and silent must be way off. The hardest thing it has to tackle is WoW. The first 970 crashed (black screen requiring 2 reboots per occurrence) frequently. However it was quiet when it functioned. It was a refurb so I blamed myself for going on the cheap and this time I bought a new retail boxed card. This card does not crash but runs at 80 plus degrees with the fans running at take-off speeds. (P.S. I know full well I can limit the fan speeds and trigger points but not going to at 80 degrees).
Overall Review: My EVGA 660 still runs like a dream. It's a shame their 970's have been a nightmare.
Pass
Pros: Installs quickly...
Cons: ...I wanted to uninstall just as quickly
Overall Review: Bought from a local retailer and not new-egg because I needed it now. Glad I can return it with only the hassle of a 5 minute drive and not waiting around for a RMA. Same distance from my router and yet 20% lower signal strength. Also about 20% lower speed (117Mbps vs 144Mbps) than my failing WNDA3100. Of course it dropped and stayed at 34Mbps for a good long while before it stabilized at 117. Choked on reloading a page while downloading a whopping 38MB file. Didn't wait around to try anything fancy like streaming something. Did get a bit warmer than my current adapter as others have reviewed. Think I'll stick with Net-gear. Mine is dying and still works better.
